Upon checking in for his appt. my husband was asked by receptionist "Erin" for his cc # because whatever wasn't covered by insurance his cc would automatically be charged for remaining balance. Totally understandable. However, when my husband asked Erin for estimate of costs & how much insurance would be covering, Erin said they don't have a breakdown of charges & it was his responsibility to find out how much insurance would cover. "I don't have the time to call nor am I going to do that kind of legwork for a one-time patient". Wow! First of all, how does she know my husband would never be returning there. 2nd, it's not ethical for a medical office to give you no idea of what costs would be (only asking for estimate) & then turn around & ask you for a credit card. What professional operates like this? Why should a customer completely trust a business without them providing you ANY information? When my husband asked to speak to someone higher up, Erin's response was that she reports directly to the doc. This must be how the entire place operates? My husband decided to cncl his appointment & leave & Erin very smugly said "no problem". Customer service at it's worst!! I highly recommend you get EVERYTHING up front from this place. Not trustworthy, nor customer friendly. My husband was able to get an appointment just 2 days later at another Endodontic office in anchorage. When he explained what happened at Alaska Endodontic Specialists & he wanted an estimate of charges up front & what would be his responsibility, the nice lady said "No problem. That's my job. We will have all of that info for you when you check in. " She then said "Do you know how many people have complained about Alaska Endodontic Specialists billing practices?" Don't just go somewhere because your dentist refers you. Review the place yourself. We'll be sharing our experience with as many people as we can. Shady and unprofessional! There are other options in Anchorage that do not operate this way
