Samstone Auto Repair

Went to the Samstone Auto Repair on McDermott in Allen, TX to get my car inspected. It is a 2011 with 20,000 miles. I don't drive much, but I was told since my transmission fluid was brown, it needed to be changed. I was told it really needed to be changed at 15,000 miles since it wasn't red anymore, and he could change it for $75.00. This is what my car's manual says : new automatic transaxle fluid should be red. The red dye is added so the assembly plant can identify it as automatic transaxle fluid and distinguish it from engine oil and antifreeze. The red dye, which is not an indicator of fluid quality, is not permanent. As the vehicle is driven, the automatic transaxle fluid will begin to look darker. The color may eventually turn brown. Guess they missed that in their training...thankfully, I didn't fall for the gimmick, but did fall for the new windshield wipers since I "couldn't pass inspection" without them. Ladies (and men) beware!!

I took my honda in for an oil change but was talked into buying a transmission flush. The problem was that the mechanic lied to me about using the genuine honda transmission fluid when I asked; it was not honda transmission fluid. Lieing to get the business is unethical. I will not use this place again.
