Lorna's Cake & Candy Supply Shoppe

I've never met the owner, but the staff is wonderful. The youngest one there is probably 40 ish. I get the impression that she doesn't do cake herself, but she is SO helpful. If she can't answer something for you, she will find someone who can. I don't think there are any men employed there. I've met most of them, I think. I have never been to any store with that many helpful people. The boss has to know the treasures she/he has. I can only go to this place on Thuirsdays or Fridays because of my work schedule, but any time I've been there, these women all treat you like family.

This place is crazy. Apparently, even when this place is closed, it's open. One of the women that works there was leaving the store on Sunday(Labor Day weekend). They were closed for business Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Not knowing this at the time, I pulled in as she was coming out. I must have had a disappointed look on my face because she signaled me to roll down my window. She said if I was wanting to go in their store, come ahead and she would unlock it for me. I gotta tell you, that impressed the (bleep!) out of me. Talk about customer service!!!

Nothing but good stuff to say about the help this place provides. I'm one of "those" people whom thinks she can do cakes...NOT. These ladies have helped me sooooo much over the past 12 years...it's not even funny. I have since taken one of their cake decorating classes, so now my cAkes are not as creepy looking as they once were. (which, I might add, I thought looked pretty good 'til I was corrected on my methods used) YIKES. What a difference a class makes!!!

First and foremost, Lorna's has the best customer service of any of the cake/candy supply stores I've ever been in. I have been going to Lorna's for approx. 25 years and know that the owner (a woman, not a man), as well as HER employees will bend over backwards for their customers. So, for her to offer to let you in after hours or while on vacation I would think would be a big help to you, as well as others...she doesn't have to you know...she's closed! As far as I can tell, this would be GREAT customer service and you should be ashamed of yourself for complaining about this kind of service, you don't find it much these days. Maybe...you were the one affected by the "full moon". This place is great and I do not go any where else if I can help it. P.S. They have the best prices around too. So, Janie...hopefully you don't come in the store and identify yourself while I am there...because you haven't even begun to have been laid into yet!!!

I was in this store two weeks ago. I needed for them to make an image for me, but I was there kinda late. They didn't seem to mind at all. The image I needed required quite a bit of research on their part, but they did it. I kept this poor woman 2 1/2 hours past their closing time, but the image was well worth it to me. This old time customer service is hard to come by. She went so far out of her way to help me get what I wanted. I will be forever grateful.

called this place to inquire about a specific item and first the answering machine picked up. then some guy intercepted it with "hello?" I asked if this was Lorna's and he replied "yep". I asked if they were open today and he said "nope". being completely taken aback by the peculiarity of the person on the other end I asked why he answered the phone then. lol. he replied, "well, because I'm just sittin' here waitin' for a cake to be picked up and just wastin' time". I said, okie dokie, well so am I then...and I hung up. I've never encountered a business representing themselves in this manner. and while finishing this sentence, the guy actually redialed me!!! asked me if I called them and I laid into him about his lack of professionalism and told him to never call me again. is it just me or is it a full moon tonight?
