General Info: About ClassicPiano With renewed respect and popularity for vintage goods and furniture, our mission is to bring attention to the many worthy used pianos that are often as good as, if not better than the newer assembly line models. Even though hundreds of acres of forest are cut down yearly to provide lumber for new pianos, manufacturers often resort to using lesser quality woods because of prohibitively high costs or unavailability of better woods. Additionally, the trend in the construction of newer pianos is to replace wood with parts made from non-traditional materials such as low density fiber board, plastic and aluminum. Therefore, when shopping for a piano it is cost effective, environmentally prudent and musically sound to consider a well constructed older piano before buying new. While many pianists have very high requirements for their instruments, limited budgets may prohibit them from buying new. Additionally, because of the high cost of purchasing new, many beginning students are forced to learn on inexpensive electronic keyboards. We endeavor to offer an outstanding option.
