General Info: Citizens' Environmental Coalition is New York’s leading environmental health organization. CEC was founded in 1983 by community leaders organizing to clean up toxic sites. Today, CEC has grown into a coalition of over 100 community, labor, health and environmental groups and thousands of individual members. CEC brings the grassroots to the statehouse, working with citizens across the state to create safe and healthy communities. CEC coordinates an Alliance for a Toxic Free Future with over 70 groups that are working to prevent harm from toxic chemicals by promoting green market shifts and reforming government policies.
