Dr Barrus was born in Minnesota and raised in a small town in Iowa.He attended Iowa State University and graduated from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery In Des Moines, Iowa. He completed his surgical residency at the Veterans Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. After finishing his training he served in the US Army as a podiatristat Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. When his military time was complete he moved to Birmingham and has been in practice here since 1995.
