The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality is administered by the state of Virginia. It provides a range of environmental consulting services. The department offers a variety of programs that include topics, such as agriculture, air quality, avian influenza, land renewal, citizen monitoring, construction assistance and pollution prevention. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality also provides programs related to enforcement, environmental education and management, voluntary remediation, power plants and waste tires. It conducts vehicle emission inspections that help in checking air pollution. The department operates a wastewater treatment plant. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality s operator training and assistance program includes specialized training for treatment professionals.
