We went on someone else's opinion , we were told they had hand made from scratch desert's, an unfortunately they are not, they are bought from a food service, but two are put together there the crust is bought, the filling is bought, but they assemble there, the pancakes are out of a box but really good, not impressed 4 a so called southern home cooking rest. It's just another money making fake restaurant that claims it's homemade, very sad.

Mary's Restaurant has the best country cooking in the area. Mary takes pride in what is served out of the kitchen, that is a quality not seen much today. The wait staff are always friendly and my coffee and tea is never empty.
Prices at Mary's are comprable to everything else around the area unless you're looking for something like McDonald's.

I think the food is great, good country cooking and not greasy. They have very good menus and good choices every day that you do not find in other restaurants.
I always go ther when I am in town, because I know I will get good food and not filled with grease like other country restaurants in town.

It's adequate if you understand that this restaurant is not meant to be, in any way, fine dining. There is only so much you can do with frozen ingredients out of, I assume, a Sysco truck. Today I had an omelet that was prepared with some skill, though the flavor was off, mainly because of the abundance of oil used on the griddle. The oil flavor permeates everything from eggs to hash browns (think "Huddle House"). The sausage patty tasted sour with that distinctive flavor that sausage gets right before it goes bad. The lack of quality control might be understandable in light of the apparent morale and demeanor of the staff. The "hostess" smacking gum, never made eye contact with us or any of the customers who came in while we were there. She never smiled and slapped the menus down on the table with obvious disdain. Our waitress was nice, but she had a rotten cold and coughed the whole time we were there. If a staff member does not have the wherewithal to stay home when sick, management should have been responsible for sending her home or assigned her tasks that did not involve touching or serving food. We can endure the "industrial" quality of the food because we don't go there with high expectations, but allowing someone to serve when sick was unforgivable. We won't be back, at least until the cold and flu season is over. If you're considering Mary's, I would recommend Huddle or Waffle House. You can get the same food cheaper and faster.
