Contact Care Line

I recently told the director (I'm sorry but I don't know her name) of Contact Careline in Pennsylvania,my tragic horrible severe psychological and sometimes physical abuse by my mother that began the moment I was born and my father kept this in until I was 22 and we were seeing a new family therapist for the first time got him crazy in the house and that he scapegoated and attacked me too and that he recently emotionally abused me again and caused me a lot of pain again.



She didn't even say how tragic,horrible and sad this all was for me and several of their listeners on this line recently weren't empathetic either and this is what this line is for,the listeners are volinteers who are supposed to be kind,empathetic,understanding and supportive to the people who are calling who are hurting and in bad emotional shape! This line should often be called,Contact *uncaring* line instead! In the late 1980's and early-mid 90's there used to be very nice caring listeners on these lines.

I once told this years ago to a former director there and she said she knows.it's hard to get good people,and that she's lucky if 10 volunteers show up for training because many people are working 2 or 3 jobs. I also said to some of the Contact listeners that they are supposed to be kind caring people on this line for people who are calling because they are hurting,and they said I'm right they are supposed to be,that's what they are there for.And I said it only leaves me and other callers hurting worse than we did before we called when the listeners aren't that nice!

Many months back I did talk to a few listeners that were the kind understanding people they are there for.But sadly there aren't that many of them,and if they aren't caring nice people then they shouldn't even be on there and the director shouldn't be a director of a line like this either! The director before her wasn't that nice either and I didn't like her.



I also wouldn't be surprised if some of the suicide callers get further emotionally distressed after speaking with these cold unempathetic listeners and then commit suicide after they hang up from them!
