        Established in 1942, Mounted Patrol San Mateo County is a charitable not-for-profit organization for men. Based in Woodside, Calif., the firm operates as a center for equestrian improvement and functions as a men's social club. Additionally, it is available for local emergency services as a self-contained disaster relief center. It also sponsors equestrian-related events, such as The Fourth of July NorCal Junior Rodeo, Cowboy Poetry, team penning and sorting, the San Mateo County Horsemen's Association Show and the Sheriff's STAR program. Members of Mounted Patrol San Mateo County are selected from accomplished riders in San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Alameda, Marin and Santa Cruz counties.
