ive worked with mr robert before and my child is in tears at times becuase she wants to go back.he has o lot of discipline in his classroom, becuase other wise he will have chaos, with 20 moms running around,

and he will not be able to teach your little ones anything.you will not like the results if he was disorganized.this is the year my daughter comes back to vogler,

Mr. Robert is condescending, rude and unprofessional . He might be good with kids , but he makes a very uncomfortable environment for parents . I can understand that you may need an environment to help children become independent away from their parents by not having parents watch; however , I would NEVER leave my 4 year old with a stranger by herself for a 1.5 hrs until I felt it was safe. I am glad I didn't leave her! The first 5 minutes of class I was completely shocked when he yelled at me in front of all the children because I snapped a quick (no flash or sound) pic of my daughter her first day of dance class. Sending this to my husband so he could see her on her first day of dance . I was speechless and could not believe his tone. I should have taken her out right then, but tried to be understanding. I was not the only one who was yelled at. I walked out and spoke with 3 other mothers that were also yelled at for various reasons, coming into class too early or late,  or their kid wearing the wrong shoes . God forbid you even have your phone out in his sight, bc he will tell you to put it away so he "can't see it!" come on people... We are adults and do not deserve to be yelled at like 5th graders and especially in front of our own children. Apparently , his rude behavior is well known throughout the studio. I have no idea how parents could put up with this.  As a mother I am there to protect my children and I would never want my child to think yelling and embarrassing people in front of others is ok and learn from someone like this. This is his form of control and absolutely crazy. Let's get a reality check: this is a little girls 3 and 4 yr old dance class to let them sour with confidence and socialize. Not a professional AVA school. I can only imagine what his behavior would be like towards the recital if he acts like this the first day of class. I find it very odd that he has only 5 star reviews...  Look closer as many are on the same day and some have the same email..very interesting

don't you think it's suspicious that all these reviews are soooo good? Mr. Robert creates a hostile environment for parents. Parents with backbones leave the studio. Those who stay are afraid of him and stay far away from him when he is working with their children.

We chose Vogler Studio because...

We chose Vogler Studio because of it's location near our home, but if we moved we'd drive across town to continue there. My daughter will be starting her sixth year with the studio and absolutely loves it. Mr. Robert is just amazing with the girls and the classes always have such an energetic, upbeat and fun atmosphere. The studio runs like clockwork. The students receive instruction in ballet, jazz, tap, baton twirling and gymnastics. If there is a certain area or areas that they particularly enjoy, there is the opportunity to take extra classes in these areas. Dancing and twirling baton in area parades is a highlight of the Christmas season for us and we look forward all year to the recital at the Stevens Center. As a mother I appreciate the age-appropriate recital costumes and music. Highly recommend.

I would like to take the opportunity to respond to this review in which the student's mother apparently asked to watch class, then did not observe the rules for parents who are observing. Sometimes all of us, as parents, forget that our child is one of a larger class of children who can be easily distracted and not take full advantage of their learning opportunity, for which they are paying tuition. So although it may be a great keepsake to take a photo of your child in class, it could also take the childrens' attention away from the instructor, and those photos can be taken before or after class. This is not just that mother's child's attention, but also the attention of the child's classmates. You are wanting to be shown respect, as you indicated, but it is also helpful to remember that the instructor and students need the respect given by observers who follow rules for parents and prospective students who are watching. Safety is always a concern for any instructor, and students and instructors who are distracted pose a safety issue as well. Mr. Robert is a well qualified instructor with many years of teaching and parenting experience, so he does insist that parents who are watching sit quietly and observe, and not take photos, use cellphones, or create any unnecessary distractions. Parents who are not OK with this should obviously not ask to sit and observe, and I do feel that while other parents may agree with your indignation if you spoke with them personally, they would probably be understanding of why the policies for observers are that they remain quiet and do not create distractions while observing. I also know that although very young children seem to be "just preschool children" that there are going to be some very serious dancers to emerge over the years, who have a lifetime of learning and artistic advantages from being in a structured class with Mr. Robert and well qualified and dedicated teachers such as him. Parents are welcome to watch, but rules for those observing must be followed and if a parent is unclear about those rules, it is best to ask permission of the instructor before class before taking photos. It seems that this would have prevented the hurt/insulted feelings that you seem to have.

Learning Dance can be FUN!

My daughter is starting her fourth year with Mr. Robert at Vogler's. Never once has she NOT wanted to go to her weekly class. I like that the emphasis is on learning in a fun and accepting setting. The girls work together in a cooperative way and I have never seen the ugliness that I remember as a child, where the emphasis was on competition.

Highlights of the year include twirling in holiday parades and the annual show/recital at the Stevens Center.

The dance studio also has ample "open house" hours to visit, so you can see for yourself the excellent program and the great rapport that Mr. Robert has with his dancing girls!

well organized

My daughter has been dancing at Vogler for 4 years. It is a very organized and comfortable place to learn, get exercise and have fun with an extracurricular activity. The girls get an opportunity to learn ballet, tap, baton and gymnastics - so it is very well rounded. There is always the choice to participate in a few parades in the community, which make great memories for the kids - Vogler always looks the best by far and represents themselves extremely well. Mr. Robert makes it easy for the parents because he is very consistent, approachable and professional. He has learned what works and what does not by his many years of experience. The recital at the end of the year flows well and the kids have such a good time. It's a great way for children to acquire an appreciation of the arts and feel special at the Stevens Center. Highly recommended.

Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a 11 year old girl who is the most clumsy person you have ever met! I trip and fall every where I go, but with the eception of one place.... Vogler Dace Studios! I have been taking dance here for 7 years now and even as homework gets harder I not once have wanted to quit. Mr. Robert (the teacher) is the most kind and gentle person you have ever meet! I have never gone somewhere else but with a smile on my face I can say that I want to keep danceing here forever and I am sure that no other place is this good, or even close to being so great. I may just be a k id but I want to say somthing, if you are a parent looking at this I want you to know that your child will thank-you for letting them go here, if you do!

Fun for the Girls

My daughter has been at Vogler Studios for 7 years, and we have been very pleased there. Mr. Robert (owner/instructor) makes the dancing fun with age appropriate language and music. It is a friendly atmosphere that allows my daughter to be active and feel good about her abilities without pressure or competition. I strongly recommend Vogler Studios.

Great!

This is my 11th year taking dance at Vogler Dance studios, and I'm 13 years old. I love it! Everyone always looks forward to getting the costumes and preforming on stage. We don't compete, which is better because everyone wins and it's always positive.
