U.S. Social Security Administration

The staff has very little concern or understanding for the people's situations whom they serve. They're cold, uncaring, and very offhanded in regard to trying to help the individual resolves issues they're having with SSA. I was interrupted multiple times while trying to explain what it is that I needed assistance with, and rudely dismissed. I was then transferred to someone's voice mail, left a message, and never received a return phone call. All I wanted was simply to verify that the office was in receipt of the paperwork I had filled out and sent to them, and they couldn't even be bothered to assist with such a simple request.

This office is closed down now. you have to go down to winston salem. lockland ave. good luck. get there EARLY. Appointment does not mean speed. They ask you to call a number but never get to talk to same "case worker" or even a real person. once you get through on phone, they tell you to go to the office anyway, so save yourself a 2 hour wait on the phone. They hand-off cases and loose paperwork, so keep copies for yourself.

This is ridiculous! I was on the phone ON HOLD for 1 hours and 10 minutes when my ear died and I finally hung up! Can't even get through to a human to ask questions or set up an appointment! My husband just died! I don't need any more of this grief. In calling the toll free number it was just as bad. How the heck are we supposed to TALK TO A HUMAN!!!!! Just another example of our government at work........disgusting.

Needs to hire more workers! 3 and 1/2 hours for a 2 minute Social Security Card. Very Small for all the people that came in and out.
