Consignment Furniture Emporium

I shop here about once a month and am always pleased with the large selection of items for sale. I've seen quality furniture and only wish I had room to buy more! The staff is always pleasant to me and attentive when I have questions. This is also a pet-friendly store and they provide strollers for your furry friends. How cool is that?!

I contacted this business several weeks ago about selling some furniture. I was first told that I would need to have three pieces before someone would come out. When I called back to schedule I was told that it would need to be a house full of furniture before anyone would come out- I needed to bring the furniture to you if it wasn’t an entire house of furniture. I took a day off work and got someone to help me load and secure a table- with 6 chairs, 1 wingback chair, and china hutch. When we got to the store we were approached by a young man at the dock area. He asked what I had- then without looking at any of the furniture said you were no longer buying tables with glass tops, wingback chairs, or china hutches. I told him it would have been nice if someone had told me that when I called. He was rude- he quickly said that he couldn’t tell anyone that you wouldn’t buy a piece of furniture before he looked at it. I reminded him that he had not looked at anything that I brought- he just stated that the three pieces of furniture I brought were not things you were buying now. Again- why not tell people that when they call. I wasted a day off work- a friends time who helped me load the furniture and travel from Lexington for someone to not look at what I had and make a clear statement that the furniture I had would not be considered.

That could have been communicated over the phone without all of the trouble on my end. The young man never said “I’m sorry we can’t use the furniture” “I hate you brought everything this far and we can’t make an offer”- he was not someone who made me ever want to come back.

Do not talk to their staff member "Cindy". She rude, snippy and has an attitude that she doesnt have time for you unless you are selling them all your new house furniture. Their advertisement for selling them used furniture is misleading. I have a glass top dinner table with 4 chairs, 2 recliners, 1 dresser and 1 file cabinet and 2 book shelves to sell. And they say its still not 3 large items. They want me to rent a truck and bring everything to them and then they will decide how much to pay me. Are you kidding me??? Its not like they are a charity organization. I'd rather donate everything to goodwill or salvation army. At least they come and pick it up for free. I shopped there a few times but I don't think I will ever again after this experience.

I recently sold a bedroom suit and sofa to CFE. I didn't have time to do the Craig's list thing, so I called them to come out. Mr Kelly showed up and offered me a decent price for all the pieces and got them moved out immediately! My new furniture was arriving the next day. The way I figured it, I would have sold them for a $100 more if I wanted to advertise and let strangers come to my house which I didn't want because I am a single Mom and didn't feel it was safe. It was fast and easy, I highly recommend this save and easy way to sell furniture. Thank you!

Excellent customer service. Large selection of furniture and it rotates weekly. Bought our sofa there and LOVE IT. Reasonable prices.

On their TV commercial and website, they claim they will come to your house and look at your furniture. I talked to one of the owners, John Kelly. In my case, he said they could not do so. No reason given. Instead, he wanted me to bring in photos of the furniture. I informed him that I did not want to do that. I did not have much money at that moment to get photos printed and was not about to waste ink printing them from my computer. I recommended that I upload the pictures via e-mail attachments. For whatever reason, he sounded reluctant to do so, but agreed to let me send in the pics.



Many of the items I had (living room, bedroom, dining room, and den furniture) were in great condition as they were not very old at all. Twin bed frames with a nightstand were antiques (circa 1950s) and in great condition. He called me back and for all of this, he offered only $200 for this. I was insulted by this offer. I turned him down and no transaction was made.



I previously had doubts about this company as I had been to their store a couple of times before. No one is ever around if you need help, the items in the store were far more outdated and some unappealing than what I had to offer, and the environment just did not seem friendly to me. I will never go back again and will recommend to family and friends to not even bother with the arrogance of the owner and the lack of staff availability. Very unfriendly business to deal with.
