The Virginia Cosmetology Program is a 1500-hour program consisting of training in such topics as hair cutting, styling, permanent waving, highlights, coloring and scalp treatments. The program also provides guidance in job opportunities, seeking and obtaining employment and laws and regulations governing salon operation. Instruction is designed to prepare future cosmetologists for the state licensing examination and employment upon graduation. It is further designed to help students develop desirable work habits, attitude and awareness of their professional responsibilities.
