The company s subsidiary companies buy and sell gas and operate production properties. The company focuses primarily on weather-sensitive residential and commercial sales. Delta s service area facilities are located in nearly 25 counties in central and southeastern Kentucky. The company has more than 40,000 customers with approximately 2,400 miles of pipeline operated. Delta has nearly 34,000 acres owned or leased. It uses more than 11,000 acres for storage and 23,000 acres for production. Delta Natural Gas Company is located in Winchester, Ky.
