I cannot say enough good things about A Child's Place. Our older child graduated from ACP and is now in elementary school and our younger child started in the infant classroom and is now in preschool. Our older child was very prepared for kindergarten, and has really thrived in elementary school. He still maintains friendships from his ACP days, and our closest family friends have come out of the wonderful school community. Our younger child is now also benefiting from this terrific school. The teachers are fantastic and really know each and every child and their needs, no matter what classroom the child is in. The school maintains a fantastic student to teacher ratio which allows for the teachers to truly care for and nurture every child. The curriculum is play based so it allows children to explore their interests and use their curiosity and imagination to learn, while also preparing them for kindergarten. There are also amazing special classes including science, music, art, yoga, animal embassy, etc. Perhaps best of all, as a parent, there has never been one moment in the time our children attended ACP that I ever doubted that our children were very well cared for, truly loved, and were stimulated, excited, and really learning and growing. Moreover, as full time working parents, we have found the flexibility of schedules to be really accommodating. This school is a hidden gem!!!

Ask questions about things that have happened in the past at this school. I could never recommend this preschool. They do not prepare your child for kindergarten and the director is not forthcoming with the truth about things that have occured. If you care about how closely your child is watched and what or if they learn do not choose to send them here. Based on past experiences I do not believe they truly care about the children only keeping things quiet to protect themselves. Ask questions as to why a review like this would be given.

My 2 children have been attending A Child's Place since 2009 and I cannot praise the school enough. From my first visit, Sandy, the director was (and is) extremely warm and friendly, with a huge heart and even bigger work ethic. I chose this program because it is play based and through play, my children are learning the ABC's and 123's, as well as about the world we live in, from nature to outer space, while also learning Spanish! My children have made many great friends and absolutely love all of their teachers. Almost every teacher my children have worked with has been there for many years. There a lot of parent and volunteer opportunities, and I have personally made many great friends. I really cannot say enough great things about A Child's Place and what an amazing community it is. I am truly going to miss it when my children have moved on...

A Child's Place is an amazing school. I have been at the school for 6 years in the First Steps program and there simply is no comparison. The "daycare" program is not your typical daycare. The teacher/student ratios are unheard of (ex. 4 teachers to 8 kids in infant and toddler programs) and it is a true community where every teacher in the building knows your child. It is play-based, but curriculums exist and my children were leaps and bounds above others in terms of preparation for kindergarten. The staff are consistent (most have been there 10 years+) and the director is a dynamic and amazingly talented woman. Another wonderful aspect of this school is the families. We have developed great relationships with numerous families at the school. A truly unique and nurturing place.

A Child's Place has been a magical place for all 3 of our children. When extensively researching preschools our priorities were the safety of our child, the creativity & commitment of the faculty & staff and the school's resources. "ACP" meets & exceeds all of these criteria for us year after year. The play-based curriculum is creative & multi-disciplinary. When my son's teachers report to parents daily about their activities I'm astounded by how much ground they are covering & how they do it! My elementary-aged kids were well prepared for Westport kindergarten & still nurture friendships made in preschool. The facilities are secure & the classrooms & play spaces imaginative and far superior to other schools in the area with regard to space & resources. The school day is a little longer than others which gives the kids more time at task & more time for me to get my work done too! We enjoy being involved in the classroom & have made lasting friendships with other families.

I have loved our experience at ACP. My third child will "graduate" this year. While the program is play-based, my older children left completely prepared for kindergarten. The teachers have been there for years and are clearly happy to be there. They are not just seasoned, but warm and caring. I have loved our time at ACP and will miss it next year. I will miss walking through the door every day. Not only have my children had a wonderful experience, but I have made many lasting friendships at A Childs Place. Most of my close Westport friends are mothers I met during our preschool years. I will be sorry to see it go.

A Child's Place has been one of the most rewarding and fulfilling aspects of moving into this community. My older son is now in Kindergarten and loved his years in both the 12-month and 10-month programs. The teachers are incredibly hands-on, attentive, and enthusiastic and foster a great sense of both learning and creativity. He remains very close with several of his former classmates. My youngest has been at the school since the infant room where the staff is so unbelievably caring, engaging, and nurturing, there were days I wanted to stay with them rather than go to work! He is now in the toddler room where I am amazed at how well he has learned to express himself both verbally and creatively. ACP is also a great community of educators, caregivers, and parents. I have always appreciated the director's open-door policy and willingness to work with families and their needs. I can't recommend this school enough!

After meeting with my child's future school. I do not feel this school prepared my child for kindergarten. You can certainly find a better program for the money. I regret choosing this program for my child and would not recommend it to any one. The 12 month program seems to nothing more than expensive babysitting.

The 12 month program lacks structure and I would question how they prepart children for kindergarten. There have been problems and a parent should ask about the high turn over rate with teachers in this program.
