Oral Cancer Screening
We now know that oral cancer claims one life every hour in the U.S. — more than the number of lives lost to skin cancer, cervical cancer or Hodgkin’s disease, and it is of great concern to Dr. Thomas. Especially when oral cancer is one of the most curable diseases when caught early. Because early detection is the key to successful outcomes, Dr. Thomas has incorporated ViziLite, a new, FDA-cleared medical technology for screening of oral cancer, into the standard of care of our patients, to ensure that they receive the most comprehensive oral cancer screening possible. ViziLite is a simple, painless and non-invasive technology that improves the doctor’s ability to visualize, evaluate and monitor suspicious areas at their earliest stages, before they can progress to something far more serious, and potentially life-threatening. ViziLite helps the Dr. Thomas see what he can’t see with the unaided eye. On a patient’s first visit, and at every annual check-up, we will be performing a ViziLite oral cancer screening.

Fillings
Natural tooth colored fillings, also known as composite fillings, are an alternative to traditional amalgam fillings. When preparing the tooth for a composite filling only the decay needs to be removed and not any healthy tooth structure. The composite filling is bonded to the tooth surface restoring its natural strength. Some patients have noticed that their teeth are less sensitive to hot and cold when composite fillings are placed as opposed to silver-mercury amalgam fillings.
Veneers
When you and Dr. Thomas arrive at a smile design and are ready to move forward, he will create a wax-up model for your approval. If at any point and time you don’t love what you see, Dr. Thomas will make any necessary adjustments. Once your veneers are ready, he will have you try them on in the office. Crowns
If more than half of your tooth has been restored with a filling, a crown is necessary for any further restoration. Without adequate support, the tooth may break away around the filling. As a rule, when fillings get larger, teeth become weaker. That is why a crown is necessary. A crown covers the entire tooth and holds it together. Crowns are used when large fillings wear out, when a tooth is cracked, or when cosmetic improvements must be made on teeth.
Bridges
All-Porcelain bridges are used to close spaces created by missing or misaligned teeth. They are made from strong; durable porcelain material and look just like your natural teeth. Root Canal Treatment
Endodontics deals with diseases of the tissue, blood vessels, and nerves inside the tooth. The most common endodontic treatment is called a “root canal,” a procedure used to remove infected tissue and refill the nerve canal inside the tooth. A root canal allows you to retain your natural tooth while eliminating the infection.
