Critter Cuts

Everyone has their own personality. This site is a business and very clean, convenient, well maintained and I have always gotten good service. Not overpriced. I have taken my puppies, kittens and Cats there over the years. Long standing business should speak for itself.

I take my dogs here for boarding and grooming, and except that the ladies who work there smoke and it smells of smoke, I have never had a problem. They are nice and always treat the dogs well I have had the dogs nails clipped also and never had a problem except my dogs name is Neville and she always pronounces it like Niville. But I guess that's the southern accent. I like them better that Pamlico Animal Hospital since the Asian Vet there is very rude.

Without any preamble - no greeting, nothing, the owner started yelling at me for waiting til my puppy was 6 months old before coming in for a trim, although he was regularly brushed, and totally unmatted. I said I hadn't realized he needed 'acclimating' to the clippers, but please try. Halfway thru his appointment, they called and said they couldn't leave him hair on his belly and would have to shave him - again very accusatory. I said fine, I understand, but when I got there to pick him up, he was totally untouched. Again, with nothing but yelling, they said they couldn't cut him, not because of his behavior, but because I brought him in too late. My 13 year old son was shocked by the way they spoke to me. I am never going back, and, by the way, my puppy got a great cut a week later from Wash & Wag with no discussion, no hassles, no accusations, just a professional and courteous experience just one week later.

I took my dog to be groomed here. The two ladies who actually do the grooming did a nice job. However, when my daughter tried to pay for the grooming with an out-of-town check, the owner grabbed my dog away and said that she couldn't accept the check in a very nasty tone.



I drove home and got my checkbook and drove back. When I presented an in-town check, she snapped at me "Is this an out-of-town check?" I showed her it wasn't, but she launched into an incoherent tirade. I asked the worker holding my dog if I could just leave and she said, "You'll have to go through her" - referring to the owner.



Although I tried to be nice throughout the episode, the owner kicked me out of her shop!!!



This owner has a lot to learn about dealing with people - maybe she should do the grooming and let her friendlier workers deal with customers!
