Dr. Moore treats and manages patients with ocular diseases, co-manages patients following ocular surgeries (including LASIK), manages patients with ocular trauma including foreign body removal, provides comprehensive eye care and fits standard and custom fit contact lenses. She joined Dr. Weir’s practice in 2005 and continues to proudly serve the people of Warrenton and the surrounding community. Dr. Moore lives locally and enjoys spending quality time with her two children who are her pride and joy outside of work.

Cataract Surgery
Our optometrists also provide co-management services for cataract surgery. We work with several trusted, leading cataract surgeons in the area and will conveniently provide the post-operative care in our office. A cataract is a clouding of the crystalline lens that develops in the eye. Cataracts vary in degree from minimal opacity to complete opacity and obstruct the passage of light into the eye. As a cataract becomes more opaque, clear vision is compromised. The only treatment for cataracts is surgery. Our doctors evaluate the eyes annually to check for and monitor cataracts. Once we determine its time for surgery we will refer you to a highly trained surgeon for the procedure.
Eye Exam
A. According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first comprehensive eye exam at 6 months of age. After that, kids should have routine eye exams at age 3 and again at age 5 or 6 (just before they enter kindergarten or the first grade).

If Diabetes can damage the small blood vessels in your retina which is the inside layer of your eye. This is called diabetic retinopathy and it can cause leaking, bleeding and eventually scarring of the retina and/or retinal detachments. This is the leading cause of blindness in the U.S. today. You may not know you are developing diabetic retinopathy until you start to experience vision loss. It can progress silently for years without noticeable symptoms. Yearly eye exams are essential when you have diabetes. Our skilled optometrists can catch problems early if you come in for annual eye exams! It is also extremely important to keep blood glucose levels as normal as possible to prevent retina damage.
