Nexus Martial Arts & Fitness

Unfortunately we moved away recently but I'm happy to write a review I am really going to miss the training at Nexus. The coaches are world class and producing awesome students. Got in the best shape I've ever been in there too. I'll miss it!

I recently joined Nexus and I am really impressed with the excellent instruction. I trained at another good school before but checked out Nexus after moving my job. I am very happy I did because this is a just a great school and I immediately felt welcomed by everyone.

After having back surgery a couple of years ago I have been very leery of working out in fear of re-injuring myself. Nexus Superfit Women's Only Boot Camp is the best thing I have ever done for myself. The classes are so empowering and push you without overdoing it. I can honestly say that after only a month of training I feel much better emotionally and physically and have lost 11 pounds. I was so nervous at first but Master Sargeant James and all the AMAZING ladies have been so positive and make me want to keep doing better. If you are looking for something to challenge you while having fun then you will find it with Nexus Superfit Women's Boot Camp!!

I have not been to the school but have been to seminars with Steve Whittier the head instructor. Great seminars!!! And other guys there were raving about the material covered and the fact that it was functional and was very easy to incorporate into their games right away. Mr. Whittier hits a home run with his stuff!!! If you are lucky enough to live near Nexus you need to check it out!

I am so happy I found Nexus. My kids took karate classes at another school but it was nothing like this! The kids have always been into sports but nothing has ever been such a positive force in their lives as Nexus has. The instructors work really hard to instill all the students with values that will last a lifetime as well as teach martial arts skills. They still enjoy other sports, but nothing else has helped them in terms of confidence and even their grades like this has. Joining Nexus was the best thing we have done for them this year. Now I am looking forward to trying class myself!

I checked out a number of places online and in the area and Nexus definitely stood out. This place is run really professional, the staff is great and the advanced students are really skilled. I am learning so much and feel better than I have in years. Awesome kids program too

Several years ago after having seen the UFC, I was curious to see what all this brazilian jiujitsu was all about...ﾠ How could a smaller man defeat a larger opponent?ﾠ I was looking for a martial art that wouldn't require me to do flying back kicks or crazy acrobatics but want to feel like I could protect myself if need be.ﾠ JiuJitsu gave me the confidence that I was looking for, and I know for a fact that it works if applied appropriately.ﾠ It is a true self defense art and a whole lot of fun.ﾠ It's almost like being a little kid when practicing techniques that require you to roll around on the ground.ﾠ Heck, who can't lie down on the ground?ﾠ Now all you need to do is learn how to move.ﾠ Also, it's such a good workout. Steve Whittier in my estimation is one of the finest coaches around.ﾠ Being athletics myself, I can relate to many of Steve's instructional techniques that he uses to teach.ﾠ He brings not only a very high level of skill in his own practice of BJJ but also an intellect that causes a practitioner to improve.ﾠ Ever since meeting him I was sure that he will go to the top with his students.

After meeting and getting to know all the men and women that I go to class with, I found out that almost all of the students travel 30 to 45 minutes one way. That's after working all day. Why would you do that? Surely there are many other gyms and martial arts studios by your house. As they say, the proof is in the pudding. Across the board NEXUS is the best.

I know I am in the right place to train... I am absolutely amped up after another awesome class. I have never learned so much in so little time anywhere... the instructors at Nexus are the best along with the camaraderie.

I started attending Nexus MC about three months ago to train for a movie . Started private training with OWNER and Chief Instructor Steve Whittier. I was immediately impressed by his sincere dedication to the Art. His teaching methods and instruction make it easy to learn the techniques. I was so impressed by the school and his staff I enrolled my 5 year old son and he loves it!! (Thanks Matt!). I did my research on local martial art schools in the area and Nexus hands down was the best choice as far as rates , cleanliness and knowledgeable instructors. I would recommend them highly to anyone interested in getting involved in martial arts.

I love Nexus Martial Arts. My daughter has been attending training there for a little over two years now, and it was the best thing I have ever done for her. The coaches are experienced, knowledgeable, caring, patient, and devoted to each and every student in and out of the classroom. My daughter love going there and is not only learning MMA skills, but also how to positively handle situations, people and herself. The education and training she is getting at Nexus will benefit her for the rest of her life. The reception staff are also very proficient in what they do. They are always friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Nexus Martial Arts to anyone looking for a complete mind and body fitness program for themselves or anyone they care about.

Great for everyone Nexus offers the best programs, professional coaching, and nicest facility for anyone in the area considering Martial Arts. My son (14) and I (40) have been training at Nexus for 3 years.We travel 40 miles from the cape 3 times per week just to train at the best school around. I have seen people of all ages and ability come to the school and fit right in. Everyone is friendly, helpful and positive. The gym is big and always very clean. I've never had a night where i didn't have fun, learn something and get a workout.

Nexus is absolutely the best place around to get your BJJ, May Thai, MMA, and Fitness training. The facilities and equipment at Nexus are top notch and kept exceptionally clean. Everyone at Nexus from the students to instructors are both friendly and helpful contributing to the chill atmosphere. I started at Nexus over a year ago as a junior in college in the BJJ/Muay Thai program. I had exercised previously doing ultra-marathons, mountaineering, free-diving, etc. Nexus provides an exciting way to maintain a high level of fitness. Not only are Steve and the other instructors extremely experienced, but they are also intelligent and effective teachers. At Nexus I quickly picked up functional skills that work in real life! I have trained at other places and they do not even come close to the level of professionalism displayed at this gym. A great place for anyone to train, even beginners. Overall Nexus is a tier one professional facility at an exceptional value. An opportunity you don't want to miss!

And MUCH more... being a member now for almost 4 months, Nexus has exceeded my expectations! Already I have learned self defense techniques that I will carry with me for the rest of my life! The classes foster a learning environment, one that is supportive and FUN - before I know it, class is over and I have just had an amazing work-out. A new mom within the last 2 years, I can honestly say I am in better shape now than I was pre-pregnancy! (Way better than any gym treadmill and NEVER boring!!!) As someone who has been an active follower and practitioner of Mixed Martial Arts for over 4 years I can honestly say I have found my home at Nexus. Being a true fighter is not just based on how tough you are or how hard you can hit. To truly be competitive and become great it is more about what you know and how you implement it. This is something that Nexus has and that I have yet in my over 4 years of experience to find an equal. To be a true a fighter one must truly study the art of fighting and Nexus is the Harvard of MMA and I am proud to say that I am student of a school that produces smart and technical fighters not bullies or tough guys. As to those who worry about price and cost all I have to say is that you get what you pay for and when it comes MMA, Muay Thai, and Jiu Jitsu Nexus is the best you can get.
