Dr. Alan A Kaplan, MD

Dr. Alan Kaplan will always hold a special place in our hearts for he was instrumental in bringing our daughter, now almost five, into our lives. I was in my forties, and had miscarried twice when I came to his office. Countless doctors had said I would not get pregnant or birth a full term baby, infact, one doctor told me even if I got pregnant, I had a one percent chance of having the baby. Dr. Kaplan from the onset was so optemistic, caring and encouraging. When I became pregnant with my daughter he took the utmost cautiion and care with my high risk pregnancy all the way to the day she was born. My daughter was a week overdue and having complications during labor so he performed a Pelosi C section - He is one of the few doctors who perform this kind of C-section. Five years later he is still my attending gynocologist - I have the utmost confidence in his expertise - I never feel like he rushes through my appointments and graciously answers every question and concern that I may have. His wife Linda is also and incredible asset to his practice and they make one feel so comfortable and at ease.

Dr. Kalplan is an OUTSTANDING doctor! He has safely delivered my 3 children and performed multiply surgeries on me. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is personable, thorough, skilled and relentless. He really cares about his patients and it shows. He and his staff are wonderful; making you and your family feel comfortable and welcome in his office. If you are looking for an OGBYN then look no further; you have found the best there is.

Years ago I thought that only a woman would be a great Gynecologist and be able to make me feel comfortable and understood. I wondered how a man was really going to be able to relate to me and understand hormones, emotions, and the things a woman goes through. Boy, did I get proven wrong! Dr. Kaplan does relate and is more knowledgeable than I ever would have thought a man could be on women's issues. I was really wrong and I'm glad that I turned around and went to see Dr. Kaplan. He's been my Doctor for many years and I always feel like I'm in the best care possible when I see him.

Dr. Kaplan is caring, thorough, makes you feel comfortable, and pays attention to your concerns. Also has a great staff! Patient rooms have walls filled with letters from adoring patients! I would never go anywhere else.

When picking a Dr. I used to be casual about it. You get a list of names out of your insurance book and just go through, pick a name, and hope for the best. In my experience though, I found Dr's that definitely were not the greatest and I would leave the office with a sense of huge disappointment and feeling like I had really wasted my time. Working full time, being a mom, along with countless other activities, it was hard enough to try to schedule an appointment but then to go to one and feel let down was just the worse. That was until I found Dr. Kaplan. Right from the first appointment I could tell he was different. I didn't feel like just another patient, I felt like he was paying close attention to my individual needs and concerns.



Then, after a few years of seeing Dr. Kaplan, he especially came through for me, the summer of 2007. I had become suddenly ill and was having extreme pelvic pain. I was in the emergency room three different times over two weeks but Dr's couldn't find anything wrong and would send me away. They couldn't find things on ultrasounds or countless other exams and they would never let me seen Gynecologist when I was at the hospital. It got to the point that the pain was so bad that I couldn't walk without limping yet the Dr's from the emergency room/hospital visits tried to convince me that it wasn't a gynelogical issue.



Next I was admitted to a hospital, and after two days, multiple Doctors still couldn't find anything wrong and refused to call in a Gynecologist to see me. They were going to release me from the hospital. I called Dr. Kaplan out of desperation from my hospital bed and explained all my symptoms, the pain I was having, and what was happening at the hospital and that they refused to call in a Gynecologist to see me. Dr. Kaplan went to action immediately. Dr. Kaplan called the hospital himself and jumped through several hoops. Next thing I know, Dr. Kaplan called me in my hospital room and told me he had arranged an emergency procedure to go in and take a look at what was going on. I'll never forget it he said " I don't know what exactly is going on but I just don't feel good about it and I think we should take a look" Thank God he did, I had a condition that had it not been caught, I could quite possibly have lost one of my ovaries. Other Dr's looked at me like I was nuts and acted like my problem was just in my head or like I was being dramatic or something, even after begging and pleading with them, I felt like it was all ignored. However, Dr. Kaplan came through for me and renewed my faith that there really are some spectacular Doctors still out there. I will be forever grateful for the way he responded to me that day. I realize now how extremely important it is to have a Dr that truly listens to you and gets to know you.

If you want a Dr that really cares, takes the time to be thorough, and explains things thoroughly so that you have a good understanding of what is going on, then this is the Dr. for you. Dr. Kaplan takes special care of his patients and is genuine about caring about your well being. Ever been to an office where you feel you are on an assembly line and it's very impersonal? Won't happen here. His walls are filled with nice letters from patients that adore him. I wouldn't go elsewhere!
