Slab replacement can be a repair option when a slab is cracked or uneven. During a partial slab replacement, the slab is saw cut around the edges then broken apart and excavated to the appropriate depth. The excavated area is lined with compacted base rock, a plastic vapor barrier and a layer of sand to protect the plastic. Rebar is laid out in a grid pattern, epoxy dowelled into the existing foundation and the new slab is poured. After appropriate curing time, the slab is ready for the installation of new flooring.
