I wasn't going to do this except for the fact that I received a letter dated May 29, 2018 from Sussman and Associates stating " they are with great reluctance terminating their professional relationship with me." "Due to the challenges of the past filing season" Here are the challanges: I went to Vicki's office early in the 2018 tax season and after providing her with several years past returns asked her for an estimate to do my taxes for the 2017 tax year. She estimated the cost would be $250-$300 which I accepted. I provided all my information to her and after several weeks she called to tell me my tax returns were complete and she would like payment when I picked up the returns. To my surprise her invoice to me was over $600. Keep in mind I do not own a business or have rental properties just retirement income and investments for both my wife and myself. There was no indication from Vicki that there would be a price increase until I went to pick up the completed returns. I asked her to justify the increase and she said "I just didn't appreciate her expertise". Side note: she did not correctly file my returns but the IRS caught the mistake and actually my refund was more than Vicki figured. So kind of funny to me that she felt the need to terminate our relationship as I had no intention of using her again.
