Glen had just bought this 2001 Volkswagen Golf on Craigslist for $300. He immediately towed this car to my shop. The Golf barely ran and the automatic transmission was slipping very badly. Most mechanics would have recommended replacing the automatic transmission. Glen needed a whole lot of work to get this car running properly. Glen spent $600 with me and I thought had done a good job for that money. I got the automatic transmission working pretty well. The Golf was driveable but it simply needed a lot more work. Glen refused to spend anymore money. He paid me the $600 and drove off. I did explain to him that the car was misfiring and consequently didn't have much power, but he again refused to spend anymore money. The lack of power put additional stress on the automatic transmission and after driving the Golf a while, Glen overheated the transmission. Because the automatic transmission was overheated, it overflowed and transmission fluid spilled on the ground. Glen immediately called me and demanded a refund. I told him that I had just serviced his transmission and was not responsible for it. Moreover, he needed more work on the Golf and this too was his own fault. He threatened to write bad reviews and report me to the BBB. He reported me to the BBB and the BBB ruled in my favor. He then proceeded to write bad reviews all over the internet. I can't figure out whether Glen is the "Customer from Hell", or just a criminal blackmailer. I got his 2001 Golf running much better for the $600. The car wasn't driveable when he first brought it to my shop. When he left the car was running ok and definitely driveable. He just plain needed a lot more work. He didn't want to spend anymore money so that is his own fault. Or maybe he just figured that if he put enough pressure on me that I would give in and refund his money. Or maybe Glen does this "Refund Game" for a living and he is a criminal. All I am sure of is that I am NOT to Blame! Thankyou for your time: Max, Max's German Car

Glenn bought this 2001 VW Golf on Craigslist for $300. He towed this car immediately to my shop in order to repair. The automatic transmission was slipping badly. The catalytic converter was rattling a lot. The engine was extremely sluggish. The Golf was NOT driveable. I told Glenn exactly what I was going to do and what it would cost. I put another catalytic converter in. I serviced his automatic transmission. I pulled his timing belt off and reinstalled it properly. I steam cleaned his engine. The Golf was driveable but still very sluggish. Glenn still needed a fuel pump but refused to pay for it. The bill was $659 and Glenn paid me $600. I told him he needed more work but he drove off without doing it. After driving the car he overheated the transmission and fluid overflowed because the sluggish engine put too much pressure on the automatic transmission. He then called me and demanded a refund.. He threatened to write bad reviews all over the internet if I didn't pay him. I told him that he needed a lot more work and so it wasn't my fault. He complained to the BBB and they ruled in my favor. I couldn't let him black mail me so he wrote bad reviews. He needed to spend more money on his car. That's not my fault. Thanks for your time; Max
