The California Maritime Academy is an educational institution that operates a range of academic and enrichment programs. The academy has been in operation since 1929 and maintains a physical education and marine survival training center. It is one of the only degree-granting maritime academies in the United States. The academy also features an engineering laboratory and simulation and technology centers. The California Maritime Academy operates bachelor s degree programs in facilities engineering technology, global studies and maritime affairs, and international business and logistics. The academy also provides courses in marine engineering technology and transportation. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The California Maritime Academy is a part of the California State University.

Facility

The California Maritime Academy is a fully accredited Cal State institution. It offers a hands on approach to learning, small class size (equivalent to a private college), dorm rooms with views of the straights. The graduation rate (94%) and employable rate is above average. Our son graduated from this fine institution in 4 years, something that is hard to achieve at other CA schools. Our experience as parents with staff was awesome, people actually answer the telephone and know who your child is! I can not say enough about this outstanding California secret.
