Lowndes County Sheriff's Office provides professional and courteous law enforcement services and maintains social order within prescribed ethical and constitutional limits in the state of Georgia. The department s divisions include criminal investigations, patrol, administration, courts and jail operations. Its patrol division is comprised of four patrol squads, K-9 unit, and interstate criminal enforcement and transport teams. Lowndes County Sheriff s Office s D.A.R.E (Drug, Abuse, Resistance and Education) program is a nationally acclaimed drug prevention program that was adopted as the official program for the state of Georgia in 1990. Lowndes County Sheriff's Office is owned by the government of Lowndes County in Georgia.
