It offers bereavement counseling, community education, and family, grief and spiritual support services. The Hospice of South Georgia accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance plans. Its services are available in Langdale Hospice House, assisted living facilities and nursing homes. The organization is a nonprofit organization that accepts donations from individuals and institutions. The Hospice of South Georgia is a member of the Georgia Hospice & Palliative Care Organization (GHPCO) and the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).

        Death is sad but they make it a little easier

        My MIL passed this past April and spent 5 days at Langdale after having a stroke that left her basically brain dead. They made her as comfortable as possible and took the best care of her. Visiting hrs were 24/7 and there are only 4 patients in each wing. There is a children's area that our kids spent time in coloring watching movies playing with toys and waiting for Grandma to go to Heaven. When the time came for her to pass they called us at 4 in the morning which was great bc they didn't wait and she didn't pass alone. We gave them all the information and they took care of calling the funeral home after I did. It wasn't the hardest time for my husband to watch his 57 yo mother die but she did it peacefully and surrounded by love and her fav gospel music. Only complaint is the "hospital smell" now everytime I go somewhere that smells like Langdale it makes me think of her. They send a lot of condolence mail and articles afterwards but it made us think about it. All in all if you have someone who is about to pass from death to life this is a wonderful place for them to be.
