Bill's Paint Shop

We looked in the phone book and picked a few company's. We had gotten several quotes and Bill (the owner) was on the high side. We were going to go with some one else and he called and said he would come down to a price we were comfortable with (he was hurting for work). We decided to use him to paint the outside of our house. He told us payment was not due until the job was completed. When they showed up the first day they seemed nice. Bill was not present most of the time due to a foot injury so his 3 children did all the work. They smoked on my property and left the butts in my yard. The job should have only taken a few days if they put in 8 hour days but they showed up when they felt like it and some days only worked 4 hours. Then one evening Bill shows up at my door wanting half payment. Hesitantly I give him the money in cash and have a very bad feeling about it. We went over with them several times throughout the process the things we wanted done prior to completion of the job. On the 7th day Bill shows up about 4 pm and says they will be finished tonight and starts hurrying them up to finish. They got trim on the house and only one coat on spots, which are noticeable and did not putty up the areas that we had showed them daily. I thought it was a half done job and gravely disappointed. In the final walk through I am pointing out the things they need to fix and Bill has the gall to say to me "Come on we already gave you a discount!" I could not believe he spoke that way to me. He called us begging for the job, how dare him say that to us. I was so angry I just wanted him off my property so I paid the rest and now want everyone to know what a bad business man Bill is.
