Peter B's Automotive

Great work! I have been taking my car to Peter B's Automotive for some time now and always have great work. Peter is very honest with me about the condition of my car. I don't have alot of money, so he is good at letting me know what needs to be done right away or can wait for later. Helpful and friendly staff also.

I will never go to Peter B's again. It is impressive that they have a lot of certified mechanics, etc. But - those certifications don't matter if they don't fix your car right, charge for work that wasn't done, etc.

Here is just one of the problems I have had. Took the car in to get brake work done. Peter B. did it. I went back in very soon after that and asked what was going on with my brakes. He listed all of the stuff that needed to be done. I said "But I just HAD that done." He said "If you paid someone to do that work and they told you they did it, they are a liar, and they ripped you off." I said "Are you POSITIVE that work hasn't been done recently?" He said "Not only has it not been done recently, it has NEVER been done." At that point I pulled out my receipt that showed that I had paid him hundreds of dollars less than a month before for the EXACT things he was telling me I needed done. He said "Well, I guess that work HAS been done." I said "Are you going to fix it?" He said "I can - let me write you up and estimate." He then told me he was going to charge me several hundred dollars to do the SAME THING that I had paid him for recently. I said - should be free. He said no.

I will never go there again. He claimed he did work on my car. Charged me hundreds to do it. In less than a month I went back because of same problems. He told me what needed to be done. I said that I had just HAD that very same thing done less than a month ago. He said - "Whoever took your money and told you they did it is a liar because that work has never been done on your car. I pulled out my receiot and showed him that I had paid HIM hundreds to do it. He then changed his tune and said the work HAD been done but needed to be done again and told me it would be several hundred dollars. I said it should be free since I had JUST paid him a few weeks ago to do it, and by his own statement the work hadn't been done. He said no. I asked how he could think it was right that I should pay him again and he said "That's how the business works.' Well - if that's how HIS business works, he doesn't get MY business any more.

Ever since he damaged my car, he admitted it, but refused to fix it or pay for it! Not only that, but he made me pay for the repair!!!!I asked him if he really thought that was the upstanding honest thing for him to do. He smirked and said "That's how business works". Arg - what a jerk. He did say (in his defense) that he felt bad about it. He said they had a really bad day and a lot of really bad things happened and I was one of the people who was part of the fallout. I seriously have NO IDEA how he can look at himself in a mirror. Apparently he must not have a problem with that and just wants the money.A man's true character is revealed by how he reacts when he screws up. He showed me his true character. I have heard the same from several people as well.I think that MAYBE if everything goes right they are ok over there. But SHEESH!!!! THEY screw up, THEY admit it, but they BLATANTLY refuse to do the right thing.Maybe this review will help someone else.

I have had several very bad experiences at Peter B's. I was a very consistent and loyal customer and used Peter B's on many occasions and even recommended them to my friends. However, something changed and I had several very disappointing experiences there consecutively. I have heard the same types of problems from other people as well.In my case, they have done several different thing on different occasions. The thing in common with them all is that either the problem with my car was not fixed, or in some cases, was made worse. BUT - rather than dealing with it properly, I was billed for work that was not done, and told that that is how the business works. On one occasion when I spoke with the owner about the fact that my car was not fixed, he agreed that the job was not done correctly. I asked him to refund what I paid, and / or to do the work over.
