    I would not recommend this practice. I've been disappointed since my first interaction and no signs of improvement yet. Will not be returning.

    All in all not a horrible practice considering the volume of patients they see everyday. I've been a patient of this practice since childhood, and although I, at times was unhappy with, or even disagreed with a diagnosis; I remembered that all doctors only have subjectivity in these matters of mental health. That being said I still feel that I receive excellent care tailored to my wants and needs, no one has ever tried to convert my way of thinking about my mental health and that ranks high on my list. I've seen others complain about billing problems-- which I've never had the 10+ years I've been there, and they have been flexible with late fees etc. at least in my case. Because of the high patient volume you will wind up waiting for an appointment at least ten minutes past the given time, but those of us who are patient patients remain patient. I'd definitely recommend their fairfield office because the trumbull office staff is just a bunch of 20 something drama queens. I've been at pizza restaurants with 17 year olds more pleasant than the trumbull staff....

  • Do Not Trust Your Mental Health or Wallet to The Waynik Group!

    Dr. Weiner of the Waynik Group is a poor doctor with an indifferent disrespectful bedside manner. He is dishonest, arrogant and untrustworthy. The Waynik Group has an unprofessional, disorganized and rude office staff that makes billing mistakes way too often; even when they have insurance information straight. This embarrassment of an MD discharged me as a psychiatric patient over a billing mistake that had not been documented and resolved fairly. Dr. Weiner out of nowhere, dropped me as his patient during the last 30 seconds of our quarterly routine office visit. He had never ever brought up any sort of issue before. In fact, when I tried to discuss a billing concern 2 visits ago (6 months prior), he told me not to worry and reassured me that he was my doctor; that there was NO problem. I have no idea what changed nor did anyone communicate any insurance/payment problems. As far as I knew, everything was ok with the billing department. I was a compliant patient and have always taken my mental health seriously due to my family history. Knowing that I am currently having other serious medical issues that have required 4 surgeries in the past 9 weeks with more to come, he wrote me out 3 months worth of prescriptions and told me to find a new practice and new psychiatrist. He verbally slammed me in the most uncaring dismissive tone I've ever heard out of a doctor in my life. He was completely unreceptive to reason and void of compassion. He was actually smiling at my distress without listening at all to hear my side of the situation. I was totally shocked and caught off guard. I had no idea what he was talking about. They were trying to charge me for 2 appointments that I cancelled with over 24 hours notice as well as another charge that a therapist agreed to drop. He just kept repeating what the Waynik Group's billing staff told him to say in a way that was extremely humiliating as well as insensitive; he came off as a cocky sadistic pig. This means that I now have to urgently find a new psychiatrist for psychiatric medication/interaction management to make sure nothing goes wrong between Dr. Weiner's prescriptions and the medications that will be given to me by my other doctors/surgeons. Again, he took what I feel was an unethical action because the office staff didn't document my situation properly and I was misled into thinking everything was ok by their incompetent communication. In addition, the Waynik Group had difficulty relaying messages to Dr. Weiner any time I had a routine question or needed to give him an update on my medical condition. The doctor's appearance is typically sloppy, unprofessional and unusually overindulgent for a psychiatrist. He doesn't seem altogether there himself. His interactions with me were minimal at best. We had very limited discussions about my response to the psychiatric medications with even less eye contact. He made mistakes writing out prescriptions 2 separate times which required me to drive the 40 mile round trip back and forth to his office and wait for him to correct the prescriptions. Speaking of waiting, he ran anywhere between 30-45 minutes late for every single one of my appointments over the 1.5 years that he was my psychiatrist. This forced me to be in an overcrowded small waiting room that occasionally didn't even have a spare chair to sit in. When he did see me, the average appointment took less than 10 minutes. Most of this time was spent writing on his prescription pad or inefficiently inputting information into his computer that printed prescriptions he occasionally forgot to sign as I was being rushed out of his office. He was always hurried and treated his patients as if they were cattle. My advice, stay as far away from the Waynik Group and Dr. Howard Weiner as you can because they are unethical, unfriendly, uncaring, unprofessional and just an awful psychiatric treatment group in my opinion.
