Copy Center

I lack the words that describe the attention and detail that Truckee Copy Center exhibited in the replacement of my power supply and hard-disk for my Dell desktop computer. The only communication initiated by this organization was to seek approval on the price. Afterward, they went silent, only responding to my visits to their shop. Not once did they reach out to me to inform me of the increased problems.



What started out as a routine repair, quickly became a project that exceeded their capabilities. Inquiries I made about the progress of their work were met with more news about their lack of computer knowledge.



After having my computer in their possession for two weeks, I asked Truckee Copy Center to return my computer. I had to come back 3 hours later to wait for the power supply to still be installed. What I received was a computer with a new hard drive and power supply. Windows 7 was also re-installed, but was correctly functional. I appear to have lost access to my DVD drive and my Ethernet card was mysteriously not working. (NOTE: They did give me a free wireless nano USB).



My original plan was to save time for more serious work and pay someone to replace the above mentioned items. After two weeks, I now have a car with an engine and transmission. I now need to install the wiring harness to make the radio, power windows, and air conditioning work. I'll first check the DVD data cable to see if it is missing or disconnected. Next, I suspect the Ethernet board is not working because of a missing driver. Entering the Service Tag number at the Dell website should fix this.



This adventure cost me two weeks of my time + $250. I'm just getting into repairing the repairs, but I should get to it before my next business trip. The experience of Truckee Copy Center was priceless!
