        Federal Prison Industries is a wholly owned government corporation operational for more than 70 years. FPI provides employments service and job skills training to the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmates. The organization provides a wide variety of services, such as correctional management, educational and vocational programs, recreational activities, English-as-a-Second Language program, and occupational training and apprenticeship programs. Registered with the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training of the U.S. Department of Labor, it also offers Adult Continuing Education activities and formal instructional classes in various subjects, including writing, foreign languages and mathematics. Additionally, FPI provides a range of parenting programs that include education, community-based social services, family literacy programs and parent and child visiting room activities.
