I had taken my car to J's Automotive to get my back brakes done, but he was swamped with business so I had to take it somewhere else (Triple A Muffler). There they charged me almost $400! that was with me providing the parts! However, they found something else wrong, wouldn't let me provide that part nor would they allow me to see the part needing to be replaced. Had J's been able to service my car he would have allowed me to get the part to save me money. After TAM said my car was fixed, I went to leave & it would not start! NOTHING else was wrong w/my car when I got there other than needing back brakes. They ended up "looking at it" & not sure what all they did. However, after "looking at it" my horn no longer worked. They tried saying it wasn't anything they had done. TAM had to give me a jump, said it was probably my battery. I went to Walmart (because I have a warranty on my battery) & had it tested & it was good. However, they found that my battery cables were loose & kindly tightened them for me. I HAVE to get my car inspected at Triple A Muffler because they're the only place in Terrell that inspects my 1993 year model car, & it was due April. So I went there to get it done. They said they couldn't inspect it because of the horn not working. So I told them it had not worked​ since I left them when they did my brake job, & asked them to look & see why. They "looked" & said they couldn't see any reason, but if I wanted to leave it they would have to charge me $100 per hour, & he wasn't sure how many hours it would take plus use 2 men for looking at & fixing my horn. I did not have $100+ so I told them I would take it to MY MECHANIC. I left & went straight to J's Automotive. Jay was busy, but he took 10 min. or less to take off the cover, check horn with his instrument​, it worked so he opened to check my fuses & it was "missing"!! Jay put a fuse in, put cover back on, asked for $10 & sent me on my way saving me $90+! Jay knows what he's doing, is honest!

When driving across the state, the absolute LAST thing you want to see is your battery light pop on in your dashboard. Especially on a Friday afternoon when you know all the automotive shops will be closing soon and you might have to hold-up for the weekend in some cheep hotel in an unknown city, stressing about missing your nephew's 6th year birthday party and wondering how I am going to explain to my preceptor that I might not be able to make it to clinic on Monday...



So I pulled into this shop, my soul wretched with desperation and despair, and within 3 HOURS I had a new alternator and was back on the road.

--> 3 !

Absolute best service! Trustworthy and reliable, would recommend everyone to go see J! This shop became a blessing to our family last year, we can always count on J to help us in a time of need. By far goes above and beyond to do the job and do it right without the high dollar service fee and hassle that I've had to experience with other shops. Thank you J!!!

We had been with the same mechanic for almost 30 years, when one day he closed up shop and left us scrambling to find someone as honest and knowledgeable as we were used to. After reading the reviews for J's Automotive, I decided to give him a chance because he sounded like our former mechanic. I was really praying that this guy would treat me right, and he did not disappoint. When I went to his shop he greeted me and wanted to look at the problem I was having right away. He spotted what he thought it was, and quickly took me to my car to have a look- see for myself. I don't know much about cars, but he took the time to explain what he was talking about and told me it would be an easy, inexpensive fix. That right there sold me. He could have told me a it was something much worse and I would have probably went along. The fix was only 20.00, and needless to say, we are customers for life. Now I'm not saying that all the repairs will be this cheap, but I know that I will get an honest estimate, and really understand and trust that what he does to my car is needed and done correctly. Give J's a try and you will be won over as well.

New to town and relied on a neighbor's recommendation when my car was overheating. My experience at J's Auto exceeded their reputation. I got personal service, on the spot, from Jay. He was in the middle of a car's engine when I popped in but still took the time to ask and answer a bunch of questions. He solved my problem at a great price (I did my homework and knew what was standard). His shop is as clean as my late Father's always was which meant, to me, he takes a lot of pride in what he does. My car is a later model so I lucked out when I found J's - I know I'll get the same great service at a fair price next time I need it. 5 stars deserved!!

I have a GMC Sierra pickup truck that the A/C was not blowing cold. I took it to A-Class in terrell and the man there told me that he wasn't sure probably a condenser. He gave me an estimate of 920.00. I didn't want to pay that much on a guess. My husband is a disabled veteran and I stay at home to take care of him, so that's a lot of money to waste on a guess. I drove by J's and pulled in frustrated to the hilt. I showed him the estimate and told him what the other man at A-Class had told me. He told me to pull the truck up and he would take a look. Less than 20 min later he had the problem solved it was a bad valve. It cost me about 800.00 less than A-Class had guessed the problem would cost. This man didn't guess, he found the problem right off the bat. I sat at A-Class for more than an hour waiting. I'm taking my Jeep to J's next. This place knows what they are doing. They fix it right for a fair price. No just guessing at problems then trying to charge you an arm and a leg. I would recommend anyone to go to J's. I promise you this I will take all my vehicles there.
