I was paired with Stop & Move through a third party broker (Open Road Moving & Storage). This was one of the most disappointing moving experiences I've ever had (I've moved over 7+ times). I used this company for a cross-country move, NYC to Los Angeles.

Every step of the way I was hit with unforeseen charges. In NYC, I was charged $260 because they couldn't park close enough to my front door, and $75 for each flight of stairs. When they were in transit, I was never able to get an update on where my stuff was until the night before delivery. When they delivered, I was charged $350 to move my stuff from their semi truck to a shuttle car -- and they had my LA address since the moment I signed the contract. They gave me an ultimatum, either pay the fee, or I can pick up my stuff from a warehouse over 50 miles away.

I have a loading dock in my new LA address and I was charged $75 for "long haul" (with no measurement device to show proof of the distance) and they tried to charge me $75 because I have an elevator!! I was able to refuse this charge, but the main takeaway from this experience is to not trust the estimated fee they quote you at the beginning as you will 100% be charged additional fees every step of the way.

Along with all the surprise fees, my TV stand and dresser arrived damaged, and I am missing an important piece from my bed frame. Most of my boxes were damaged as well, even ones marked "fragile".

I would not recommend this company if you're looking for movers, the service they provided was not sufficient for the price I paid, and the customer service when trying to troubleshoot was bad.

The men that came were very rude and unprofessional. They tried to double our price and kept trying to charge us more for everything. It was clearly a bait & Switch. We had everything packaged and covered In moving blankets and shrink wrap. (Standard). At one point one of the men got loud with my husband and even gave him the finger. I will be doing a charge back on the credit card for services not rendered. Horrible experience!!

Everyone I spoke with was extremely professional, polite, and friendly. Their sales coordinated everything over the phone and provided me with a very reasonable quote. On move day, our furniture was wrapped really well and they took things apart professionally. The goods were separated very carefully to ensure they would be able to unload the same thing with ease. This was very professional of them and proved their experience in this business. The moving crew was great and did not complain once! They were very friendly and efficient. The move was completed in a short amount of time and nothing was damaged or misplaced. Stop and Move is absolutely stunning!

This moving company kept in constant touch with me and called a couple of times on the moving day. The moving guys were not in hurry yet they successfully completed the move before the allotted time. After unloading I rechecked the checklist to find out that nothing was missing or broken or damaged, no hidden fees and absolutely nothing which might have bothered us. They are very straight forward and they deliver the services as agreed without any change in the agreed pricing. I am very impressed and I highly recommend Stop and Move!

Stop and Move has such great people working there. They are so friendly and polite! They are not like those other companies who I feel are like robots. No emotions and no care. But the people here are not that way. They are very accommodating and they try to do their best. Even the moving team was great. Polite, well mannered, efficient and caring. They did a marvelous job. No scratches and no dents at all. I couldn’t be happier!

This is the second time I've used Stop and Move and again they did an awesome job. They showed up on time and helped us pack up our entire apartment with care within 4 hours only. They took extra care in placing our furniture and not to scratch or damage anything. Even with all the extra care they still managed to unpack all of our belongings in just over 2 hours. They are fast, efficient, and will take care of your belongings. Plus, the price is right. I plan on using these guys for every single one of my long distance moves.

These guys blew me away. I was skeptical that they could pull off this move for the price they quoted and in the timeframe they set but they sure enough made it happen. I have used movers in the past and have always had damage but this time these guys renewed my faith in workers taking pride in their workmanship. Pablo really ran a tight ship the way he directed his crew like little worker ants on a mission. Great job by Stop and Move.
