Tarwheels Skateway

I have skated and inline skated my whole life all over the USA. I was excited to take my kids on the PTA night for the first time but as soon as we walked in through clouds of smokers in the entry I knew it wasn't going to be good. A concrete floor! It is 2014....who has this? I have only skated on wooden floors. This was awful! We did need to rent one pair of skates which I think were 20 years old and had very slick wheels which were really 'great' on the super slick, hard conrete floor. There was no floor guard. A lot of kids were hurt this night and I saw many falling and no one helping or exiting the floor wrong and colliding with others. The skate floor was way too dark at times esp. with really young kids and NO GUARD to assist. I will say the music was appropriate. Didn't go to snack bar...we don't eat junk food. We are looking for another place to skate. A friend said Greenville has a wooden skate floor!!!!
