Highland Prep is a STEM college preparatory, charter high school. Our doors opened in August of 2017 serving 9th grade students, and we will add a grade level each subsequent year. Highland Prep is a sister school to the highly successful Madison Highland Prep located in Phoenix, and will look to duplicate and expand upon their core principles. STEM Focus The Project Lead The Way program engages students in activities, projects,experiences. Robotics Highland Prep High School features three separate Robotics They include SeaPerch, VEX, and the national Zero Robotics Programming Competition sponsored by NASA & MIT. These Robotics Programs offer students an exciting platform for learning about areas rich with career opportunities spanning science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). College and Career Readiness Highland Prep believes that college and career readiness are two of the most important determinants of a school's success, and may be measured by a school's ability to transition its graduates to post-secondary education without remediation. HP believes that the best way to ensure that their students acquire these skills is through exposure to a rigorous curriculum. HP's rigorous curriculum includes honors and advanced placement (AP) classes since students who participate in the AP curriculum have increased high school graduation and college completion rates (College Board, 2007) over those who do not. At Highland Prep our purpose is to offer families a high quality Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) college-preparatory.
