Worship The Church of Christ in Stockton is a congregation that teaches and practices first century New Testament Apostolic Christianity! Our motto is to take a thus sayest the Lord in every thing we do! Our plea is to speak where the Bible speaks, to be silent where the Bible is silent, to call Bible things by Bible names, and to do Bible things the Bible way! We would love to have you join us for worship. Below is a brief description of how we conduct our worship. 3) Preaching the gospel using men teachers only: 2 Timothy 2: 2 -And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 1 Corinthians 14: 31 -For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 1 Corinthians 14: 34-35 -Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Timothy 2: 11-12 -Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 4) Observing the Lord's Supper, the Breaking of bread, the Communion, the way Jesus instituted it using one loaf of bread and one cup of the fruit of the vine: 1 Corinthians 10: 16-17 -The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread. 1 Corinthians 11: 23-25 -For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 5) Giving of our means as we are prospered: 1 Corinthians 16: 1-2 -Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come., Christian
