Don't believe the quote over the phone for a service call. That only pertains to arriving at your door and staring, briefly, at the broken appliance. If he has to reach down and lift one finger for as much as one minute, then another hourly rate kicks in on top of the alleged service call fee of $79.00. You end up paying twice what the man quoted you, even if he's only there for 4 or 5 minutes. How's that for customer service? Take your chances if you wish, but be sure you discuss his service call plus what he will charge if he has to as much as bend over and touch something with his hands once he's at your place. Believe it or not, a "service call" only compensates him for getting to your location... everything else, no matter how small... is extra. Two stars is overly generous. Keep looking, there are other contractors who will tell you up front what services will actually cost. Other than that, he seems like a nice guy and he knows his business. But for me, trust is a key factor in business dealings, and it has to be earned.
