Best Friends Pet Care

I just needed a place for my cat for a few hours while the exterminator worked and until it was safe to re-enter the house and this place was great. The people were very friendly and understood that my cat liked to be petted but not held, unless it was her own idea. They treated her wonderfully and I will definitely bring her back if the need arises. The first time I called the woman answering was very helpful, she even called the vet to verify my cat's shots and when it turned out her rabies had expired just a week before, even suggested I could take her to the vet for the shot and they could keep her there during the treatment. So for the 2nd pest control treatment two weeks later I called again and that time the woman answering was no help at all. I wasn't even sure I'd called the same place. She didn't ask any information about my cat, wouldn't call the vet to verify that she had had the shots she needed now and didn't even take an appointment, telling me to just show up. It was too late to find someplace else, so I went in not as enthusiastic about the place as I had been and worried that I didn't have a reservation. But when I went in, the people were awesome. They took my information, asked about my cat, and were just very helpful and professional. Turns out the second woman just wasn't following the procedures she should have and they were going to talk it over with her. I'm glad I ended up going instead of finding another place. They took great care of my cat and I ended up very happy with the service.

When I went to Beat Friends to drop off my dogs for their stay, I was unfortunately having to drop them off by myself as my husband was working. I have a large shepherd mix and a terrier mix of which both have a lot of energy and anxiety issues because they were strays and abandoned. I weight just over a hundred pounds and it would've been nice if one of the 6 people behind the front counter would've asked if I needed help controlling them while I give them vaccination records, etc. but no one did. I finished signing paperwork and whatnot and suddenly a girl walks up an starts taking their collars and harnesses off and putting on a lead. I could tell she was just going to walk off with them so I asked if I get to see where they're staying and she responded with "Ummm you CAN..." Which I found to be really unprofessional. So I went with her and helped her with my dogs. Upon arrival at the "suite" I reserved for them, it was up 2 flights of stairs and about the size of a moving box. There was no bedding, nothing but stainless steel. When I returned to pick them up, I had already paid for my pets' stay and was waiting on my husband to meet me at the facility to help me with the dogs. I then remembered that no one gave me our dog food back. They looked for it and were unable to find it, then the girl said "it's probably upstairs". She then returns with my dogs' food. Inside the food bag I had a plastic bag with a toy and some rawhides for them. It looked as though they had gone untouched. My husband and I leave with the dogs who smell horrible at this point even though they were bathed by us only a few days prior to their stay at Best Friends. When we arrived home (a very short distance away), my dogs had to use the bathroom so badly, I have never Seen them urinate for so long. there is no telling when the facility took them outside last. Now we've come to find out that one of our dogs now has an ear infection and cannot stop scratching his ear. Overall, my experience was not good especially considering I paid $200 to leave them for 2 nights and they appearantly don't get to go to the bathroom often, don't have bedding or toys that I had brought, come home smelling like a garbage truck and with infections. I won't recommend this place and I won't return. It is not horrible but I'm not going to waste my money when I could spend it somewhere I know is going to take care of them like they should.
