Shanghai Tattoo Company

My husband bought me $125 worth of gift certificates for Christmas in 2009, I got pregnant shortly thereafter and couldn't use them. I put them away and honestly forgot about them until I came across them a few weeks ago. There is no expiration date on the certificates so when I went to use them I was told I would only get $50 credit toward a $160 tattoo instead of the total face value that was paid. The ownership has not changed and there is no expiration date on the certificates!! I was told by the owner, Jason Lightfoot, that HE is the one that is going to lose money on the tattoo...I'm not exactly sure how that's possible since HIS SHOP HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID $125. Basically he's telling me that he wants me to pay $235 for a tattoo that, by his own admission, is only worth $160. I say $235 because my husband has already given him $125, of which he is only willing to give me $50 credit, and I have to come out of pocket another $110 for the tattoo. $50 is not even 1/2 the value of the gift certificates, which again HAVE NO EXPIRATION DATE!! The last time I checked when a person pays for a service that they never receive it's called FRAUD or STEALING. I will be leaving reviews everywhere I possibly can and I am still considering my legal options at this point!! Mr. Lightfoot may have a great portfolio but his customer service skills are highly lacking, if you want to be treated fairly and respectfully I would suggest finding another shop!!

I just got my second tattoo and am extremely happy with how it turned out. I was a walk in with a vague idea of what I wanted and Jay Lightfoot was gracious in working with me and hooked me up on the spot. The Man Is Awesome!I will never get another tattoo from anywhere but Shanghai.

I have 2 tattoos done by Jay Lightfoot--my last one was a cover up over Minnie mouse with a blue/teal celtic cross--absolutely amazing!! never would know Minnie was ever there! colors are beautiful! He did a sun on my back for me several yrs ago that I get lots of compliments on!!! I highly recommend them! Staff is very helpful & attentive!! very nice environment to relax in!! I tried to post a pic but couldn't get it to upload!

I went to Shanghai tattoo to get a stick man I had on my leg covered. My artist was jenny she was grate , she printed out what I wanted on my leg looked at it once and free handed it on to my leg took all of 5 mins. Then she was on her way with my tattoo it looks amazing you can even tell what she covered she did it so good. I would defiantly go back there for more work and I've already told a ton of people about her and the shop.

I have been a client of Shanghai Tattoo for a couple of years now, and I have to say that this is the most amazing tattoo parlor I have ever been to. The staff is super friendly, and the artists are second to none. The shop is absolutely beautiful inside, and everyone is really cool and makes you feel very comfortable as soon as you walk in the door. All the artists are fantastic, but I personally have had 4 tattoos done by Jay, and each one is a beautiful piece of art. I highly recommend Shanghai Tattoo Company to anyone looking to get a true piece of art. You will not regret it... I cant give this place enough stars!

My best friend actually recommended this shop and Jason (the owner) to me when I was looking for a place to get inked. Jason's Shanghai Tattoo is a really comfortable, professional place to get your tattoo on. I really dig just chatting with him while he does his amazing work. He is very personable and has just the right touch. Some artists are a little heavy handed and it can be a bit more painful. Others are too light with the needle and you tend to see fading. I have 2 tattoos from Jason and they both look as good today as they day I got them (the first 4.5 years ago and the second 3.5 years ago).



So, if you are looking for a nice, comfortable, professional atmosphere to get inked, Shanghai Tattoo is exactly what you need. Oh yeah, and the prices are great to boot.

I had my 5th tattoo done here and it was beautiful. I'm going to have more done very soon. Their work is awesome I recommend this place to anybody that wants a tattoo done.

Great place to get a tattoo done at. I hade my first one done there and it was a rib piece it was farly large. I hade just turned 18 and done it for my birthday. Jason (The owner) is the man who done mine. He done a great job on it he went above and beyond what I thought it was going to be. He was very gental since it ws my first tattoo I didn't no what to exspect but he was paient with me and let me take brakes when I needed them. Jason was very kind and talked to me the whole time he was doing the tattoo. Price was very reasonable.

Shanghais is the least to say an awesome place for your next tattoo. whether it is your first or last, you will be more than satisfied with the work handled by these artist.for those who are getting a first though, great place to start is here. like me, i didnt know how i wanted my tattoos and both times this shop was more than happy to accomondate to your needs. check out this shop before any other.

Shanghai is awesome! I had my very first tattoo done by Jason (Jay) in Feb. 2011..It was a rather large tattoo (side piece) for a first. Jay did an excellent job and I wear it proudly!! Not only did he do excellent work, he was very friendly, and made the 5 hours seem like 2.. the staff was very friendly, helpful and gave much support and encouragement. I'm ready for my next tattoo and look forward to visiting Jay and Shanghai tattoo very soon!!

I just got my first tattoo at Shanghai today. I heard a lot of good things about Shanghai before from co-workers. He had a his sleeves done by Jason and recommended me. I went and discussed what I wanted and went today to see what Jason had worked up for me. He did an amazing job. He works quick yet he is very efficient. I am so happy with his work and I love my tattoo. I wouldn't have it any other way. It wasn't as painful as it would have been any where else. I highly recommend JASON and SHANGHAI TATTOO COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!! They are amazing :)
