I was a dishwasher for Rossi's for a week. Horrible experience. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EATING OR WORKING HERE.
Why you should NOT eat here:
- The dishwashers who work there and were supposed to train me do not clean the dishes properly. Which means you are eating off of dirty dishes constantly.
- Proper food safety is NOT practiced.
-They do not wear gloves when handling food.
-They do not wash their hands.
-They do not properly clean the equipment.
-They set the tubs of food temporarily on the disgusting dirty floor when they are busy which is never properly cleaned as well. They could buy a better deck scrubber and clean it a lot better but the owner is cheap and does not want to spend money on his own restaurant.
-Even your drink cups and mugs are not properly washed.
- Where the food is stored is dirty and not cleaned often if ever. (The walk in freezer)
- The counters where all your food is prepped is never sanitized, just wiped down sometimes with a dry towel to get the excess food off.
Why you should NOT work here:
- The boss pays his employees illegally, under the table when he can.
- Horrible Pay.
- The boss does not know how to run a restaraunt properly.
- They hire people who are not reliable and not team players.
- They will fire you apparently if they ask you to work a double shift and you tell them you Can't. ( At least that's why I got fired. I was always on time and worked hard and fast. When they asked me if I could work a double shift I said I would let them know by 6. When I called to let them know I could not, the boss called me back 10 minutes later and fired me saying "Just so you know you do not work here anymore " )
- "You are not allowed to have a break for more then 5 minutes. You are here to work" said the boss the first day I worked with him.
- The boss is worried about the Dishwasher using to much water.
- They won't even fix their leaking ice machine, instead they put boxes down on the ground to soak up the water.

Rossi's Diner is one of the best places to eat in possibly all of Florida. My family and I eat there at least 3 times a weeks and absolutely love it. They have amazing homemade foods as well as savory desserts. The manager Bernadette Rossi is one of the owners along with her brother Steven and Matty. They also have many family members actually working in the restaurant. Berna's sister Lisa Rossi makes all of the desserts there. They are all homemade and need we say DELICIOUS! Berna herself is phenominal. She works everyday, rain or shine. She's always there to greet you and take your money. The speedy and witty Lj (who is one of the bustboys) is easily the funniest person I've seen at a restaurant. I'm not sure when he works, but when he does, he's sure to greet you with a warm heart and a joke. We always ask for Patty (one of the waitresses) but she's not there right now because I guess she's sick or something. Kathy (another waitress) is awesome. You never really have to wait to get in, and never have to wait for your food either. Next time you're in Daytona I definately suggest you visit Rossi's Diner and pick up one of their signature muffins or desserts. No wonder their the #1 Diner in Daytona! -Lisa Helmi Scott

For your information, I am a former employee at Rossi's Diner and I'll have you know that the owner of that establishment in one of the nicest persons I know. And FYI: Just like at any restaurant, if your merely don't like a meal, you still have to pay for it because you ordered it. Unless the waitress literally forced you to order it, then I'm guessing you ordered it with your free knowledge and understand and weren't pressured into the buy. If there was something wrong with your meal on their part, then they would DEFINATELY pay for your meal. They sell hundreds of orders of meatloaf every week and NO ONE complains...except you. And she was wrong to say that for every customer she looses she gets another, because for every customer she looses she get 10 or 15. They didn't become the #1 Diner in Daytona Beach and Top 10 Restaurant in Volusia County for nothing...

My daughter did not like the meatloaf she ordered and sent it back. We did not have the time to reorder. When paying, the Owner Insisted we pay for her meal even though she only took 2 bites and was unbelievably Rude .... She said that for every customer she looses she gets another.
