Teeth Cleaning

Fillings
Once completed, the tooth has a natural appearance and is actually stronger than before due to the strength of the adhesive agent used to bond the resin to the tooth. Composite fillings also lack the sensitivity that is often associated with silver amalgam fillings. They are especially suited for smaller cavities and for patients who may be allergic to metal fillings.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are often used for the same reasons as bonding (to lighten stains, close gaps and even alter crooked or malformed teeth). They are considerable more durable and do not change color, unlike bonding.
Crowns
Cosmetic dental crowns provide the same function as a regular crown by strengthening the tooth, but give a much better look. Our cosmetic crowns are made of all porcelain with no internal or external metals. That allows light to freely transmit from one side of the tooth to the other without that opaque look that results when metal blocks the light.
Bridges
The crown is the dental restoration that can strengthen and restore the entire top of a tooth. The crown can also be part of the attachment of a fixed bridge for the replacement of teeth. The tooth is strengthened because it is covered from the outside with a casting of metal or ceramic that will wrap up and splint the tooth.
Dental Bonding
Restorative Dentistry
Traditionally, a dental surgeon, like an oral surgeon or a periodontist, performs the surgical component. A general dentist, or prosthodontist and laboratory technician performs the restorative component. However, as implant dentistry has become more sophisticated, sometimes a dentist who specializes in restorative dentistry conducts the entire procedure. By both placing and restoring the implant at one location with one doctor better results can be achieved.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal therapy refers to the process by which a dentist treats the inner aspects of a tooth, specifically that area inside a tooth that is occupied by its “pulp tissue.” Most people would probably refer to a tooth’s pulp tissue as its “nerve.” While a tooth’s pulp tissue does contain nerve it is also fibers composed of arteries, veins, lymph vessels, and connective tissue.

Deep Cleaning
More than 75% of the population has some form of gum disease. This is why it is not surprising that dentists commonly recommend a procedure called periodontal treatment to their patients. Gum condition such as deep pockets, especially with bone loss, require immediate attention from the dentist. Some of the common recommendations by dentists include scaling, deep cleaning as well as gum surgery. Some of the signs and symptoms of gum disease may include bad breath, bleeding gums, sore gums and teeth as well as loose teeth. Lots of people are not aware of these symptoms and gum disease can really eat the teeth away.

Gum Surgery
According to American Dental Association only about 4% of patients needing gum surgery actually follow through with treatment; lots of people are still terrified just thinking about the gum surgery idea. Bone Grafting
As the body heals for approximately two to six months after the surgery, the bone around the implant fuses to the implant through a process called osseointegration with some older forms of implants. In our office many of the implants we place can be used immediately without expensive bone grafting for under $1000.
