Would like to talk to someone there about a Arthur Fox. He was my father and I found a jacket that belonged to him and had the name of this bar on it.He was a tall (6'2") was a painter, and a bit of a ladies man...he like to chase the women. He talked about this place and I would like to send the jacket back.

In a small village town of Sey...

To the guy below..do you remember eating..lol..most likely not..lol as follows>In a small village town of Seymour on a rail line from NYC, a Metro North engine with New Haven's orange and black logo out of the 50'S pulls 3 or 4 cars into Seymour every day and evening looking like a picture out of a book pulling into our quaint station. This view is seen from the windows of Jimmy's Place. They say lunches are excellent everyday. But every Friday and Friday nites only Jimmy's serves Dinner. This is the last of the local small restaurant/bar/dives' that serves a fantastic dinner. Why Fridays only i don't know why, because the foods grate and the prices are to.Such as, how about 12 of the freshest shucked baby clams on the half shell and Jimmy's own fresh horseradish for $7.50..no kidding. Then the best homemade clam chowder ya ever had......sweeeeet...Then a Whale soft shell crab fried or sauteed in Lemon garlic butter on homemade mashed potato's' and side of veg.Don't forget your Cocktail before because i forgot that, such as ice cold sweet Manhattan up.Oh, all the setting is along the bar that's Jimmy's Place.Yes sort of a bar/restaurant but very quaint. The menu specials change like the Soft Shell Crab season only. The Pork Osso Buco is to die for and the size could feed two.Owner Jimmy Principi and his wife Judy/waitress and bus girl are up front with the there son bar tending, then there is Lenny in the kitchen.Brother this Kid can cook and on Fridays only? Why?... and a full house witch serves up stairs approx 30 people or so not counting the bar.The chatter is there every Friday, yes sometimes between bar stools and sittings but after all this is Jimmy's Place.Once a month they even squeezes in a small live band with Jimmy him self on bongos. the Menu is as follows:

DO NOT GO THERE!

I tried it for dinner Friday April third, 2009. The food looked good, if they chose to serve it to you. I ordered a dinner and at 90 minutes later had not been served. I was sittng at the bar, so it was not as if I was in a forgotten corner of the place. Behind me , a regular customer (they knew him by name) sat down and ordered the same dish that I did. The bartender, who took my order, told me so. She also took his order. I also watched him eat his dinner. When he asked to have wrapped what he could not finish, I left the bartender a tip and walked out of the place. It was clear by then that if you are not already a regular customer, you are not welcome there. It was a dissappointment and a waste of an evening!
