Shady Pines Campground

Don't waste your time with this place. My wife and I drove all the way out to the Berkshires from New York, New York because we were told this campground was cool... SIX YEARS AGO. Unfortunately the quality has since gone down and the staff who were once considered friendly have succumb to being a bunch of nasty, arrogant jerks. Their children, at least the two girls I met, aren't very friendly. God help that poor campground if they take over after their parents. I was told by a frequent camper one was taking psychology... I fear for her patients if that says anything about this family's personalities.



The grounds quality isn't the best I've seen, matter of fact... it's pretty bad. Messy, unkept. The bathrooms... I saw elsewhere other people weren't pleased either. They're disgusting. Same goes for the showers. The rec hall is sub par. Overall we were very bored and couldn't get the least bit of relaxation with how noisy it can be around the grounds. Bunch of ridiculous drunks. Ick. Needless to say but should be included is that there is no WiFi available, the food is disgusting (my wife got food poisoning) and the area is in the middle of no where. If you have an emergency while in Savoy forget getting help right away. Another camper I spoke to at a restaurant away from the grounds told me the volunteer police and fire departments were slow beyond reasoning.



Definitely don't recommend this place. Avoid at all costs!
