A lot of the reviews written here were from before the hotel was remodeled. I stayed here during that time and I stayed here recently. They have made vast improvements to the hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated, they upgraded their management-I received A+ treatment! They also have a great breakfast area with a variety of different foods to choose from. I would definitely stay here again.

Room was nicely decorated and clean, pretty basic, but met my expectations for the price. Bed was comfortable, location was quiet.

I recently stayed here for 3 weeks and this place was exactly what I was looking for! Very clean and comfortable room, with breakfast every morning from 7-9 AM. Cable TV and a nice bathroom for an extremely low rate! Very close to the Hayward Park Caltrain and Safeway, as well as buses in and around San Mateo. Plus the property manager/owner personally assists you 24 hours a day with any request you may have!

Was looking for a decent price motel near SF and found Stone Villa which was perfect. In addition San Mateo is very neighborhood for diner and shopping if you want avoid SF parking problems. Service was friendly and parking right in front the room. Quiet and clean just the mattresses are hard so you must prefer that.

We have to travel to San Mateo for my CPE, this hotel is quiet, free Wifi that actually works. The room is big and clean. The bed is great for a goodnight sleep. The price is great for what you get. Breakfast isn't great, but it is food. Stay on the second floor, since you can hear the overhead walking.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It is very nicely decorated with a homey feel. The price is very reasonable and it is obvious this hotel owner cares about his property. It is very clean, but beyond that very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

We were just there for a night, but nice, clean, affordable place to stay. Breakfast included. Front desk guy was very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was clean, great location, nice breakfast (loved the fresh croissants!) and convenient to the train. No ice; machine was broken seemingly permanently. I'll stay there again.

Everything is overpriced in the Bay area, but this place is actually reasonable.

We stayed at Stone Villa Inn at the end of December, 2012, and the place was great. Management very responsive (including mailing back a charger we left), and the place was clean and convenient. Obviously they had just upgraded to flat screen TVs and other amenities, because the old TVs were stacked up on a balcony ready to be taken away. And the windows open wide!

Found this place online with intentions of only staying one night. I had such a great experience combined with the cool neighborhood that I called to stay another night. The rooms are clean and simple but with all of the amenities you need. WiFi is free as is parking. I'd highly recommend this spot

I was to California on vacation for 1 week and I stayed in 4 hotels (Candlewood, Holiday Express, Stone Villa Inn and Red Roof). I have booked Deluxe Queen with Stone Villa Inn. Everything was excellent and way better than the other hotels I stayed, with the price being nearly half compared to other hotels I stayed at. Even the breakfast was way better with multiple options compared to the others. It was family owned and maintained very well. I would strongly recommend staying there if visiting SFO (it's 30 min drive).
