The San Francisco Sheriff's Department oversees law enforcement primarily in and around San Francisco County, Calif. The sheriff s office is a division of the county government. It also files reports on behalf of residents pertaining to crimes and traffic accidents. The department is comprised of more than 825 officers and 90-plus civil personnel. It is headquartered in San Francisco.
