Overall

Brenda Brenda Brenda, where did your soul go? For some reason I remembered you being so much better 3 years ago. Now everything is just adequate. The food is good enough but definitely not worth it if you have to wait longer than 15 mins.

Shrimp Pot Pie - more like sprimp gumbo with a crust at the bottom and cheese melted on top. Flavor is good but definitely not a pot pie.

Pork Belly with Hashbrown - Good. You can't really go wrong with pork belly, potato, and a runny egg.

Beignets (apple, plain, Ghiradeli chocolate) - Ok. Too thick and dry for my liking.

Would I come back? Only if a friend of mine wants to come here and the line is less than a 15 min wait. There's too many options in SF to say this is THE spot.

Worth the wait

I had a phenomenal brunch there with some friends. I really long for New Orleans now, even though I've never been there. We tried to sample different items on the menu just make the most of our first time there.
The coffee smooth, watermelon iced tea refreshing and the food fantastic. The group shared crawfish beniets which was one of many solid decisions we made.

For my meal I chose a daily special, pumpkin pie pancakes. No maple syrup required. They were that good. The cream cheese topping was a nice touch too.

All in all, the experience was worth the wait. The food was absolutely decadent. Well done Brenda's.

Just went there this (Sunday) ...

Just went there this (Sunday) morning at around 10:30am. Had to wait an hour and a half before being seated - downright ridiculous and that's why I've dinged them a star. Started with beignets and had andoullie & cheddar omelette. Every bite was delicious; perhaps I was just reaallllllly hungry. Biscuit that accompanied the omlette was the best one I've ever had. So buttery and flaky. Omelette and potatoes were also well done. Good news: looks like they might be expanding next door? Saw a permit sign in front of the closed down laundromat for Brenda LLC. Hopefully they'll have a bunch more tables and the wait wont be as painful.

Hands Down the Best in SF

I L O V E, LOVE Brenda's!!!

It is my favorite breakfast restaurant in San Francisco. The food is incredible. Everything from the biscuits to the grits and specialty dishes are amazing.

The wait can be long, so make sure to plan for it. The place is a tiny hole in the wall (less than 20 seats total), but so are many of the best places in the city. I really like the service and always look forward to eating there.
