Medical Weight Loss
CoolSculpting is not a weight loss solution for people who are obese, or a substitute for surgical methods such as liposuction. Good candidates have noticeable bulges in certain areas they’d like to get rid of and are within 15-20 pounds of their ideal weight. Pregnancy
Over time women begin to notice certain symptoms that alert her to changes in her vaginal health. These may be due to pregnancy and childbirth, and the hormonal loss that comes over time. Loss of vaginal health is the result of dropping estrogen levels before and during menopause. Depending on the symptoms and the severity with which they present themselves, a woman’s lifestyle will often suffer.
Labor and Delivery
Spider veins are superficial, wavy, thin, reddish-purple veins that occur over the legs, often clustered on the thighs or below the knees, that have become permanently dilated. Spider veins, or telangiectasias, affect as many as 80% of women and a large percentage of men. The cause is largely genetics and time, although pregnancy, childbirth, birth control pills, estrogen-replacement therapy, and previous injury can all be factors.

Ultrasound
External ultrasonic-assisted liposuction, an American adaptation of this technique wherein the ultrasound is applied externally before, rather than internally during, the procedure, has failed to provide any significant benefit or advantage over tumescent liposuction alone. Dr. Binstock has abandoned this technique as well.
Iontophoresis
Tap water iontophoresis. Battery-powered electrical devices applied to the skin that decrease sweating in some people. They are time consuming and need to be repeated on a daily or a weekly basis

Botox
Dr. Binstock’s goal is to use dermal fillers, Botox, and lasers for beautification, not just restoration. He maps out, with a special PHI caliper or measuring tool, the placement of injectable fillers with the precision necessary to enhance features and restore pleasing contours. A full proportional correction creates amazing results with high patient satisfaction, and typically lasts for one to two years.
Brow Lift
Botox Cosmetic is botulinum type A derivatives used to relax frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, and the depressors at the corner of the mouth. They can also elevate the eyebrow area, affecting a nonsurgical brow lift. In the neck, Botox Cosmetic is very effective in reducing horizontal neck lines and in relaxing the mid-neck vertical cords, i.e., thickened bands of underlying platysma muscle. They can also reduce lip lines, enhance lip fullness, and reduce marionette lines.
Eyelid Surgery
Dr. Binstock learned to perform cosmetic eyelid surgery while serving as a Fellow in Dermatologic Surgery at the University of California San Francisco in 1979. He studied the transconjunctival invisible lower eyelid approach for lower eyelid surgery while visiting Dr. Pierre Fournier in Paris, France in 1986.
Liposuction
One of the first surgeons to perform liposuction in America, Dr. Binstock trained in Paris with the procedure’s inventors, Dr. Yves-Gerard Illouz and Dr. Pierre Fournier. Dr. Binstock, using skills gained through years of performing thousands of liposuction procedures, offers CoolSculpting non-surgical fat reduction that can give liposuction like results by freezing problem fat deposits on virtually any body area, including the abdomen, love handles, flanks, inner and outer thighs, and upper arms.
Face Lift
Aging is multi-factored phenomena with progressive loss of supporting structure and subcutaneous tissue that results in a hollowing out of the temples and cheeks, a thinning of the lips, loss of jaw and chin definition, etc. Pulling skin tighter, i.e., a face lift, only addresses part of the aging process, often leaving the face gaunt and pulled. Lipo filling and contouring uniquely offers the volume of a natural filler substance necessary to improve and reverse this aspect of aging, which is usually ignored. The results can be quite dramatic and a more youthful appearance regained. Fat transfer can often postpone, as well as complement, facelifts.
Neck Lift
When Botox Cosmetic is injected into the platysma muscle and bands of the neck, it causes them to relax, improving the neck vertical neck cords that develop over time. This effect actually simulates a neck lift in those individuals who do not have a lot of excess neck skin. Botox Cosmetic can be injected into the frontalis muscle of the forehead to reduce and smooth out forehead lines, as this is the muscle that elevates the eyebrows and causes horizontal forehead lines. Treating the orbicularis oculi muscles just above and around the eyebrows can affect a nonsurgical brow lift by inhibiting the muscles that pull down the eyebrow. Around the mouth, Botox Cosmetic can lessen the depth of upper lip lines, marionette lines, and downward tilt of corners of the mouth. The chin can be injected to reduce dimpling.
Blepharoplasty
Wrinkles in the lower eyelid skin show minimal improvement following lower lid blepharoplasty. Attempts to smooth the skin by removing lower eyelid skin often result in a rounding of the shape of the eye and the unnatural appearance of white showing under the iris of the eye. These changes are very uncommon and are minimized by the transconjunctival approach as the skin surface and muscular support of the lower eyelid remain unaltered, helping the eye to maintain a pleasing, natural appearance.
Breast Surgery
Linear red scars, which often result from face lifts, breast surgery, and cancer treatments, can be flattened by injecting a variety of medications as well as by applying Kelo-cote silicone gel. Fraxel Restore is an effective new addition, retexturing and helping the scars blend better.
Lip Augmentation
It appears that each lipo (fat) transfer session results in an average of a 30–50% residual correction and that by doing a series of two to three sessions, it is usually possible to achieve a substantial and often persistent long-term correction. This depends on the body area or facial area grafted as well as on each particular individual. For example, the filling in of cheek hollows and body depressions will often last a long time, while lip augmentation and frown line filling needs touch up more often as aging continues.

Lesions
Actinic keratosis are precancerous lesions that appear as subtle, rough spots on sun-exposed skin. They commonly occur in people with fair complexions age 50 and over. Today, we are seeing many patients in their 30s with these precancerous lesions. If left untreated, up to 10% may become squamous cell skin cancers. Actinic keratoses are one of the most common conditions that dermatologists treat, using liquid nitrogen to spot-treat specific lesions. A more global approach is to treat the entire face or scalp by topically applying topical 5-fluorouracil (Carac®) or imiquimod (Aldara®), or with Blue U light and topically applied Levulan® (photodynamic therapy).
Chemical Peels
Chemical peeling is a cosmetic dermatologic procedure that reduces many of the signs of aging including fine and heavy wrinkling, leathery skin, pigmentation, and scaling, and premalignant keratoses. We offer three types of chemical peels, superficial, medium, and deep. The depth of the peel is determined by the specific peeling agent used, how aggressively it is applied, and how long it is left on the skin.
