Overall
Babbo Grande

Hidden gem- never went here when it was the French branded place... Always thought it was too basic (just crepes didn't appeal to me) - when it changed names, it still didn't seem to appealing - babbo grande sounded a bit clownish.

But hey, when I saw the $5 weekday breakfast and lunch and dinner options, I thought maybe I should give it a shot.

Well one weekend came around and a friend said it was good, so what the heck: we were hungry and it was close.

Things I love:

1. It's big! We've been twice and no wait to be seated.

2. Great outdoor patios, side patio especially quiet.

3. Bring your dog to the outdoor seating area!

4. Fast fast very friendly service

5. Delish full breakfast for $7 !

Only negative and doesn't warrant a star reduction: iced tea is not fresh brewed and has that off taste when it comes from the soda fountain - ick.

Overall the best breakfast spot in Hillcrest on an overall basis. The Mission is close, but not nearly as comfortable and longer waits. Hash House is good but very long waits and service has deteriorated (see separate review).

We've been twice and we'll be back frequently.

Please though, better iced tea. That is all.
