Stone Oak Veterinary Clinic

I don't even think this clinic deserves one star. I called about getting a ferrel cat spayed. The receptionist answering the phone laughed at the fact that I thought I could get a discount for the cat being ferrel. They said it would be an extra charge because it would take them longer. We are college students and this cat had kittens that we are trying to find homes for and just want to fix this cat so it does not have more kittens. Overall helping out the community, but apparently stone oak vet clinic only cares about how much money they can make. I will not be returning there ever again. They also have some of the highest fees in the San Antonio area. I would think a career choice as a Veterinarian would be someone who is compassionate and cares about the whole community. This obviously is not the person running Stone Oak Vet Clinic.

The post below is very disheartening to me especially since I count the staff at Stone Oak as part of my family. I have taken all of my pets to Dr.Fernandez for the last 15 years and I couldn’t imagine going elsewhere. It appears to me that this family had a terrible experience based on their own lack of attention to detail. Every time I drop my pet off for boarding I read the ENTIRE BOARDING SHEET to make sure no protocols have changed since my last visit, and I make sure every detail of my dogs stay is covered. I appreciate the biannual exam that is given to my pets as it assures me my fur babies are in excellent health. All the receptionists have been nothing but helpful during my visits and every time I have any issues I get it treated in a timely and respectful manor. I understand everybody is entitled to voice their experiences and opinions, and I am voicing mine right now. If you have a bad experience based on your own negligence you have nobody to blame but yourself. I will continue to stand by Dr.Fernandez and his staff and will continue to recommend his clinic and bring my pets there for years to come. Best care in San Antonio with outstanding staff and prices!!

To be extremely cautious and make sure you ask the exact cost of all procedures. My wife and I recently visited our son in San Antonio and boarded our dog for four days. We were told the correct charge of $17.00 a day and we were charged the correct amount of $68.00. We were told there would also be a $2.00 charge for a pill that they give to all dogs during their stay. We were properly notified of that before we got there. They also told us we would have to have a flu shot. That was an additional $24.80, which we thought was the same as a kennel cough shot. Our mistake, it is not. We paid for the flu shot w/out any disagreement. However; we were also charged $47.00 for a "physical" for our dog. We were not told of this at the time of check in. ALL other charges were discussed and we agreed.



We were notified that "when you signed your papers at check in, it is outlined in red that there is a physical required for dogs when they have a flu shot." was the response of the office manager when I called later after we left, questioning the $47.00 charge. This charge was not mentioned by the receptionist when we checked in, althought ALL OTHER CHARGES WERE and we agreed. I guess I should have read all 3 pages in full before signing, even though the young lady kept saying "just sign here" on each page. Why wasn't the $47.00 cahrge discussed as was ALL the other charges? Very easy answer-they know that people wouold not agree to it and take their dog or cat elsewhere.



So..........what was to be a total of $70.00 to board our dog turned out to be $141.80, or approx. $35.00 a day instead of $17.00. Thanks again Stone Oak. You screwed us good. Where is the paperwork for the physical? Don't have it, do you!?



Well, Stone Oak Vet Clinic, you fooled us. Be proud of yourself that you dooked $47.00 form the Green's. How many other people have they done this to?

Stone Oak Veterinary Clinic has been seeing my pets for the past 4 years. Dr. Fernandez and his team treat them like to spoil them every time we visit with treats and the finest veterinary care. They always have time to go an extra step to help me understand my pet’s medical needs. Dr. Fernandez always is considerate in doing only what is absolutely necessary and doesn’t run un-needed tests or procedures. He always knows what is best for my furry family.

I took my dog to this wonderful clinic for DNA testing, the techs that drew his blood were awsome, he is normally very nervous at the vet but here he felt like he was a home. i sugguested this clinic to every one i know. Awsome Dr. and awsome staff.

The staff here is truly passionate about the welfare of our furry family members! There is a great balance of professionalism and fun between workers and clients. Dr Fernandez is absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable and ensures that all questions are answered before leaving. The price for visits/medications is reasonable and the establishment is always clean and tidy.

The best vet clinic in San Antonio! Very professional and knowledgeable doctor and staff, genuinely care about your pets like they were their own pets. Treat you like a member of the family, not just a number. The only place to go when your pets need tender loving care!

I have been taking my dog to Stone Oak Veterinary Clinic since he was a puppy. He is now 11 years old. He has always received excellent care. And I am thankful that Dr. Fernandez and the staff take great care with my treasured furry family member.

Dr. Fernandez has always taken the time to answer all of our questions and not once made us feel rushed, we feel very comfortable knowing that our Rusty and Katy are in his care.

Both of our dogs Luna and Pancho have been patients at Stone Oak Vet for the past 15 years. I can't say enough of the professionalism, facilities and staff. Dr. Hernandez was wonderful when we had to put down our 11 yr old "Pancho" .

Stone Oak Vet Clinic has been great! It is very easy to get an appointment and you can tell how much they care about their customers. I am also very pleased with their boarding, as my dog always comes home happy and in great shape!

This clinic is like home to our little chihuahua. The doctor is fantastic and the staff is so efficient and caring. I wouldn't take our "best friend" anywhere else.

Dr.Fernandez is so awesome with my bulldog Chula. She has no fear of him as she did with her old vet Dr. The staff is great and we are in and out right on scheduled time. Keep up the great job!!!!

Stone Oak Veterinary Clinic has a competent and professional staff. They always display compassion. I trust them to care for my dogs.

My dog has been going to stone oak vet clinic since he was a puppy. He is now 7. I have lived in San Antonio and now in New Braunfels, and it is worth the 45 min drive to continue to go there. The doctors and staff have always been awesome! They truly care about my dogs health. The front office staff knows me and my pet by name and always make us feel very welcome. In addition they are wonderful when it comes to follow-up care. The staff at stone oak vet calls to check on my dog. Every member of their staff truly loves helping animals. I cant say enough good things about them and will continue to take my dog and future pets to them. Thank you stone oak vet!

The staff at Stone Oak Veterinary Clinic clearly care about pets and their owners. They make keeping track of our dogs' health easy with email reminders for immunizations, check-ups, useful information, and special offers.

I have been going to Stone Oak Veterinary Clinic for nearly 10 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Dr. Fernandez and his Staff go to extremes to accommodate you in any way they can and are always pleasent and helpful. They have helped us so much in the lost of a pet (lulu) and helped so much in making a difficult situation a little easier. They keep you informed on all new procedures and medications and any health hazards they may affect your pet via emails to all their clients which I find very helpful and informative. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

Best vet in town! Genuine love for all animals is clearly shown. I wouldn't take my pets to any other vet. I trust Dr Fernandez, and that about says it all.
